Ava pisses me off...like all the time.

I storm down the elevator to the computer room. "Joshua."

"Yes?"

"Tell me what's going on."

"How is Newt? Did it work?"

"No."

Joshua breaths out a long, dreary sigh. "I am so sorry."

"He can do it himself."

"That's not what I'm worried about."

An alarm sounds off above our heads. Red lights flicker on an off, engulfing the room in its color. "What the shuck?"

People scramble around the room. Papers fall to the floor, and chairs take their place on the ground, too as their inhabitants rush out of the room. Joshua grabs my arm, "Get out of here."

"Like, to my room?"

"No. Get out. Leave while you can."

"What? No."

"Fine. Get to your room. Go!"

I sprint towards the elevators, and repeatedly press level eight. When I step back out, I pause as the intercom sounds, "All doors will be locked immediately." Klunk...I race down the hall to my room, and swing open the door. I slam it behind me. My ears ring as they try to recover from the blaring noise. What is going on?

I sit on my bed, and bite at my nails as I impatiently wait for something. For anything.

An hour.

A whole hour of that constant noise. I push my pillow against my face, and groan into it. "Shut up!" My voice is muffled through the pillow. It stops. I should do that more often.
