"So what was your position? In the Maze."

"What, like- Head leader?"

"Yeah," Minho says as leans against the elevator wall.

"No," I laugh. "I was the first to come up, but I felt better as the Peace Keeper. I-"

"Peace Keeper? We never had one of those."

"You're boys. You don't need one."

"Men."

"Boys."

He gapes his mouth, probably to call me a slinthead or something, but the opening of the elevator door stops him. We head down the hallways to the Computer room.

"Do you two ever sleep in?" Joshua asks as he shakes his head.

"Well, after setting us in a shuck Maze for three years, you tend to stick with the routine." Minho snaps back as he crosses his arms.

"The others are seeming to enjoy the extra time to sleep."

"Do you have anything for us to do?" I ask, ignoring Joshua's comment.

"Sleep," he pushes.

"Why do you want us to sleep so much?" I ask, stepping towards him.

He frowns. Lines form around his mouth. It's so real, it hurts. "Enjoy anything, and everything you can."

"Was that supposed to inspire us?" Minho smirks over at me.

"What-"

"Go bother Ava..." Joshua interrupts me, and turns around.
What the shuck, Joshua? "Come on, Minho." He follows close behind me as I briskly exit the room.

"Do you wanna go see Ne-"

"No."

"What? I thought you'd be excited to see him." He presses the down button on the outside of the elevator. I press the up. He presses the down again. "Stop."

"You stop." I press the up button again. He pushes me against the wall with his left hand, and presses the down button with his right. I regain my balance. "You know it doesn't matter whether we press down or up."

"I know. But I couldn't just let you win."

"Shuck you," I say as I push some hair out of my face.

We step in the elevator, and chills run up my spine when he presses Below Ground Level.
I can't do this.
