............
Beep...Beep...

I feel a burning sensation throughout my skin.
Beep...Beep...

It must be all of the "toxic" chemicals Ava was talking about.
Beep...Beep...

I open my eyes, but for some reason, the fluid doesn't burn them.
Beep...Beep...

My vision is blurred, and I blink repeatedly to gain it back.
Beep...Beep...

Wait, am I alive? Did I just die?
Beep. Beep. Beep.

I hear the heart monitor racing faster. My whole body feels as if it's on fire. My breaths become louder and louder. I try to look through the glass, but everything looks fuzzy with a blue tint. Let me out of here! I try to move, but I can't. I close my eyes, and try to relax.
Beep...Beep...

You're here for a reason. Maybe you will survive, maybe you won't. But you have to push through. I control my breathing as my muscles release from their tense.

Only seconds later, the liquid starts to drain. I slowly sink back to the bottom of the pod, and open my eyes. There are WICKED scientists scurrying around the room. One steps up to the glass tube, and opens the door. "Kenzie!" It's Joshua. He pulls the breathing mask off of my face, and helps me stable myself.

"Where is everyone else?" I say through a weak voice. It's not the others I'm worried about, though. It's Newt.

"They were ordered out after you..." He looks me up and down. "Come on, we need to get you to the medical room. You're dying as we speak. He lightly pulls me out of the pod by my arm, and leads me down the steps. I just died...

Med-jacks push a carrier over to me, and gently place me on top of it. They start to push me to the elevators. I just died...

They head to the medical floor, and push me down a hallway into a small operation room. One of them hooks me up to another heart monitor as other Med-jacks enter the room, and start putting things all over me. I just died...

My heart monitor races faster and faster. The doctors hurriedly scramble to give me the proper attention. "Just hold on," one of the nurses says to me. She smiles down at me as she holds my hand. Burning sensations cover my body as I try to calm down.

I see black dots swarm my vision. My world starts to spin as my limbs go numb.

I sleep.

Newt. He's standing over me, and he doesn't look happy. He doesn't look sain either...His nose is gone, and his skin is a grayish color. His. Face flashes in three times before I completely gain my sight back. His jaw is clenched as he stares down at me. I lie on a table, my hands and feet restrained to it. Just like before I entered the Maze.

I start to wake up. Newt is talking, but I don't hear it. I open my eyes.

No one is in here anymore. I know I'm awake. Training helped me with that.

I sit up, and look at my body. Needles are in my arms, and there is a tube that enters each nostril, obviously a breathing machine. I lie back down, and wait for someone to enter the room. Does anyone know I'm alive?

I listen to the sound of my deep breaths and the heart monitor that sits close by. My skin doesn't hurt anymore...but that's the least to my worries. Did the experiment even work? Will I have to go back? I lie idly for at least thirty minutes before I start to go crazy. Where the shuck are the doctors?

I close my eyes and try to fall asleep again, but the adrenaline and suspense is keeping me from doing so.
Where is Newt?
