I wonder where Kenzie is... I left my room as soon as the doors unlocked to see her. When she wasn't there, I came down here, to the training room. She still hasn't come down yet.

And Minho is here.

I shiver at the thought of him. I avoid making eye contact, hoping he won't yell at me to push myself harder. I don't remember him being so ruthless when I was a Runner. Then again- that was like two years ago.
He's already sweating like a pig. "It's half-past seven, and you already look like you've just been pulled out of a night in the Maze," I call out to Minho.
"It's half-past seven, and you look like you've been prancing IN A BED OF DAISIES," he stares at me, apparently assuming I'm going to pick up speed in my sit ups. Thomas holds back a laugh as he holds my feet down. Minho opens his mouth to say something, but we're all caught off guard by a huge boom.
"That sounds like the Berg entrance opening," I hear Aris say. I still don't like him. The four of us race to the elevator, leaving the training room empty. Once we reach the Berg room, we stare at the giant aircrafts, waiting to see what happens. The soldiers start to pile off, and I look over at Minho, who's eyes light up.
"Melissa!" He waves at a soldier, but she doesn't wave back. She just frowns at him. "What?" He mumbles. I see the heartbrake- its written all over his face.
And I know how he feels.
"Minho, somethings wrong. You know she's not just being a jerk. And I'm going to prove it," Thomas reassures him while placing a hand on his shoulder.
His words hit me. Somethings wrong... I play the statement over and over again in my head. Someone yells something at me as the elevator door closes, but I don't hear it.
I reach Kenzie's room, and pound on the door louder than expected. It takes her a second to answer it; but when she does, I don't hesitate to start speaking, "Kenzie, we need to talk." Her face drops at my words. "No, no. Not like that. Never. You know I wouldn't break up with you. I was thinking about you, and, I know now why you're...how you are. You apparently have something going on. I'm going to make sure you're ok, and I'm going to love you through whatever is going on. But you need to talk to me." I wait for a response. Nothing. As usual. I clear my throat, and she looks up at me.
"Ok."
"That's it?"
"What am I supposed to say?"
"How about, 'Thank you' and, 'I love you'."
"What's that? You're saying that it's a privilege to have your support? You're already supposed to be there for me. It's not supposed to be this great gift that you bestowed upon me," She says as she gestures her hands.
"You should be happy that I'm supporting you through your crazy assumptions, yes," I raise my voice. Idiot. Why did you say that!?
She laughs, "Wow. That's what you think."
No. "Yes."
"Ok, great. Then you've settled it. You've turned this from agree-to-dissagree, to you'd better think the way I do, or you're insain."
I'm sorry. "That is not what I was saying."
"Then what is it? Tell me. Because right now, it feels like everyone is against me. I'm tired of hearing how stupid I am. Ava treats me that way, and now you. She's manipulating your mind, Newt. The villains aren't going to walk around in spandex and a black cape in the real world. They're going to make you think they're one of you. I'm not crazy. And maybe I'm 'the way I am' because-"
"You're paranoid."
"What?"
"You're acting like this because you think something is going on. Just slim it, and take a look around. They're trying to help."
"You weren't saying that a few weeks ago when I was dead."
I wait a second to clear my mind. To start over. "I came here to apologize."
She claps sarcastically, "Great job, Newt."
"Seriously? I'm trying, ok? But it's hard to talk to someone who's depressed about how she's wrong."
"First off, I am not depressed. And second, I'm not wrong. You know what, no. You're inconsiderate of my feelings, and now, I'm going to be inconsiderate of yours. We're. Through."
I stand, shocked. "No," I mouth.
She shakes her head, turns around, and closes the door. "No..."
