I lean my head against the elevator wall. I should have listened to Minho. This is killing me...

I decide to eat breakfast today, so I press level two. Not many people are in here. Shuck, there's Minho. He smiles, and waves at me. I wave back as I force a smile. I grab some food, and take a seat across from him. "Alone?"

"I guess we're the only ones who think breakfast is important." He laughs, and stuffs his face with a biscuit.

"Mhm..." I feel as if I've betrayed him. I can belarely even look in his general direction.

"What's wrong?" He says with a mouthful.

"Nothing." I feel him staring at me. The hairs on my neck stand on end. "What?"

"Oh, nothing," he mimics. It only makes me feel more guilty.

"I don't sound like that."

"Yes, you do." He smiles at me. Ugh, the guilt is agonizing! "But seriously, what's your problem."

"I have none.." I mutter.

"Seriously? Ok, now I know you're lying."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Hm, let's see. You get engaged, only later to lose your fiancé to The Maze. Then you enter The Maze. You're tortured for a month in solitude. You exit The Maze, get attacked by Cranks, then your boyfriend dies without your even remembering his name. Need I go on?" I just stare at him. "Ok, I will. Then you remember your boyfriend, and realize he's dead. You're emotionally scarred, but then your emotions go on a totally different train ride because guess what? He's alive! You find your friends, and they accuse you of being one of WICKED's fake whatever-the-klunks. You have some nightmares, then you fight Cranks, and die."

"You made it soumd like I died because of the Cranks. Fix it."

"Then you get murdered my WICKED! Good enough for ya'?"

I nod.

"And you come back to life, only to find that your boyfriend is dying. There. All of your problems. But which one is bothering you right now?"

I sigh, and lean back in my chair. I tap my fingers on the table as Minho patiently waits for my answer. I shrug my shoulders.

"Come on!" He says with a raspy tone, obviously not satisfied with my response.

"What?"

"You have no clue how to keep a conversation going."

"Is that what this is? Small talk? You don't really care what I'm upset about?"

"Ha! You admit you're upset!"

I feel my mouth drop wide open. He got me... "I..."

"Come on out with it," he smirks, feeling as if he's won. And he has.

"I..guess that Newt is dying..."

"You guess?"

"Yes, Newt is dying!" I spit at him.

"Woah, woah. Calm down." He puts his hands up, as if surrendering to my gunpoint.

I close my eyes, and lean my head back. I sit back up, and put my arms on the table. "Yeah, he's dying. And I'm a shucking wreck." I stick my face in my hands. I sense that Minho is uncomfortable. He's not the sensitive type.

"I get it. Yes, I'm upset too. Dude's like all I got."

"You had no idea?"

"Hu?"

"That he had died. You didn't know that Thomas shot him?"

He snickers, and stabs a fork in his food, "Nah, I didn't have a clue. I was pretty pissed for a few seconds when you first announced it. But you cleared things up, so I forgot all about it. I didn't even think about hating Thomas for it."

"Oh, trust me. I did."
