The Rebound

It had been a week since I saw Joseph and Mateo wasn't even talking to me anymore. He really did miss his daddy. I missed my boyfriend.

"Mateo sweetie"I called

He just walked over to me.

"Are you hungry sweetie?"I asked him. He shook his head no and walked back into his room. I followed him to find him staring at a photo of Joseph.

"I miss you daddy"He said as tears filled his eyes. He rolled into a ball and stared at the photo of Joseph.

"Baby"I whispered.

He didn't response.

"Mateo"

"No wanna talk"He said staring at Joseph's photo.

"Where did you get that?"I asked him. Meaning the photo

"Daddy give me. He said when miss him I have him with me"He said

I sighed. Knowing that would be something Joseph would do. God I miss him. So much. So so much. His lips, his voice, his heart,his personality,my body soothed and  the safety of his arms wrapped tightly around me.

I crouched down next to him and he didn't move. He just held onto the photo of Joseph.

"Mateo you need to eat baby"

"I'm not hungry momma"He said weakly.

"Baby"

"I said I not hungry momma"He said in a stronger but not aggressive tone.

"I just miss daddy"He said.

"I miss him too"

"He no coming back is he. "He said to me my heart shattering

"He is baby"

"I just want cuddles with daddy. Momma I miss him. I miss cuddles."He pouted and sat up.

"I know baby momma wants that too so bad"I said to him.

"Why is daddy not here?"he said

"Baby daddy has to sort somethings"

"But it long what happened momma?"

"Daddy-he"My voice broke

I heard a knock at my door confused I got up and walked over and answered it.

It was him.

"Hey urm been awhile thought I'd come see you"Joseph said holding flowers. Roses.

"What are the flowers for?"

"My apology for not coming. But I have an update"He said as he gestured me to take the flowers

I smiled as I took the flowers

"Brie said they were your favourite so I thought why not get you some"He said as he scratched the back of his head. Something he did when he was nervous.

"They are. Thank you"I said as I kissed his cheek. He blushed and looked to the floor

"It's nothing"He said with his beautiful smile

"Come on Joseph"I said pulling him Inside. He took off his shoes and followed me into the kitchen. I replaced my flowers with Joseph's.

Mateo walked out his room and saw Joseph. He ran over to Joseph and collapsed against his legs

"DADDY DADDY YOUR BACK!"He shouted happily

"Oh hey little man"He said picking Mateo up

Did he just call Mateo little man?He hadn't called Mateo that when he came with Jon. He never did. Please say this is him getting some of his memory back.
