3. Strawberry Ice Cream

The next morning you slowly opened your eyes and sun light was flooding into Ginnys room, Ginny was still asleep and Hermiones bed was neatly made. You stretched and swung your legs over the side of your bed and slowly made it to your feet. you pulled on some loose linen shorts and a cropped tank top and left the room. Mrs. Weasley had breakfast on the table already and George and Fred were eating.

"Morning boys" you said as you walked past them to fill the kettle with water

"IT LIVES" Fred yelled making George laugh and almost choke on his food "you were so gone last night, when you got up to go to the bathroom you were in here for like 15 minutes, thought we lost you" Fred slapped his brothers back while he got his coughing under control.

"Oh yeah I was fine" you said glancing over at George who's eyes were already on you "just got a bit distracted is all" Fred nodded and went back to shoveling his breakfast into his mouth. 

Everyone else eventually woke up, Ginny being the last and she didn't have much to say when she trudged down the stairs

"Ginny dear you look awful" Molly said when she saw her "what happened" you glanced over to George and did your best to hold in your laughter

"I just didn't sleep well mum" Ginny said avoiding her eye

"Well Im off to do the shopping" Mrs.Weasley announced "Why don't you all go down to the pond today or something so you're not cooped up in this house. But make sure all your trunks are pack, we leave for kings cross tomorrow first thing"

"That sounds like a great idea mum" Ginny said giving her a thumbs up and laying her head down on the table.

An hour later everyone was in their bathing suits ready to head down to the pond. You, Ginny, and Hermione carried the towels and snacks while the boys ran ahead.

"So last night was interesting" Hermione said looking at both girls

"Hey don't look at me"  you held your hands up in defense "I didn't snog the chosen one" Ginny swatted at you but you dodged her hands and laughed.

"George do you like any girls at Hogwarts" Ginny mimicked your voice "Cause I think you're cute"

"Hey I never said that... I only wanted to know if he liked Katie. But it doesn't even matter because I was right he does" You shrugged and picked up your pace walking away from the other girls. When you got to the pond you laid out the towels and put everything on the ground before pulling off your shorts and t shirt. You had picked a lavender bikini with small white flowers on it while ginny had gone for a sage green bikini and Hermione was wearing a white one piece. You walked up to the edge of the pond and George swam over

"Fancy a dip"

"maybe" you stuck your toes in the water and splashed some water at George. He laughed and swam back a few feet

"Come on get in" he called "Would be such a shame to waste a bathing suit like that" he smirked as his eyes raked over your body making you blush.

"Alright Weasley look out" you got a running start and jumped into the cool clear water. when you broke through the surface George was smiling at you with the same goofy grin you had grown to love over the years. You rolled your eyes at him but smiled back and swam over to the others.

After a few games of chicken and Fred trying to drown George everyone climbed out of the water and fell onto their towels. Harry started to rummage through the bags looking for something to eat when Ginny got up to help him, she caught you watching them and immediately blushed and looked away. You were happy for her, she deserved someone nice who cared about her. You looked over at George who was talking with Ron and you couldn't help but feel something for him. But he didn't feel it back. You had grown up together he was there when you had your first crush, your first heartbreak, he was there for you when your mom left. He saw you as a sister, and that would just have to do because having him as a friend is better than having him as nothing.

Mrs.Weasley came back and started on dinner, she made a huge meal for the last night of summer and she outdid herself. Everyone was stuffed and tired by the end of the day. Ron and Harry had gone upstairs to pack their trunks while Ginny and Hermione played a game of wizards chess. You walked into the living room and sat down at the piano and played a few scales while you hummed a tune.

"I didn't know you played" Hermione said without looking up from their game

"Samantha? she the best piano player I've ever known" George said as he walked into the room. I rolled my eyes and just kept playing "And the best singer.....teach me" he said walking up behind you. You took his hands and placed his fingers on the keys accordingly. You pressed them down in the correct order and a song came from the piano.

"Uptown girl" You sang quietly "She's been living in her uptown world" you showed George the notes again and then helped him do it. "I bet she's never had a backstreet guy" you let go of his fingers and he kept playing the pattern you showed him "I bet her mamma never told her why" You looked back at George who was no longer looking down at his finger but right back at you.

"beautiful" he said quietly tucking your hair behind your ear making you blush "Uh ya know the song"  George straightened up and smiled at you before walking back into the kitchen. Ginny and Hermione had abandoned their game of wizard chess and were both starring at you, Hermiones mouth slightly opened

"No, I dont want to hear it" you said standing up from the piano following George into the kitchen, he was pulling a bowl from the shelf

"strawberry or vanilla"  he asked holding up two cartons of ice cream

"Strawberry" You said smiling up at him. George put a few scoops of the ice cream into his bowl and grabbed a spoon before walking outside with you. You sat down on the garden bench and George offered you a bite. He held up the spoon full of ice cream for you and you ate the sweet ice cream off of it. you sat in silence for a while sharing the ice cream and watching the sun set

"I dont want to go back" George finally said

"I know" you rested you head against his shoulder "but you have me and Fred and it'll be over before you know it and then you'll be able to open up your own joke shop" you smile, Fred and George had been working so hard on all of their products you knew they would only ever be successful. George didn't say anything else but he started humming Uptown girl which made you smile even more

"Our song" you said

"Our song" George smiled down at you and wrapped his arm around you.
