51. Here or There

You held tightly to George's hand as you silently walked down the tunnel towards Hogwarts. You had no idea what awaited you inside the castle but you knew whatever was happening it would be bad. You followed closely behind Remus and Sirius wanting to be close to everyone, you felt weak and exposed on your own.
You arrived at the end of the tunnel and the passage opened to the room of requirements, you all climbed out and saw hammocks and make shift beds filling the room. It looked a lot different than when you used it for DA meetings.
"Where is everyone" you whispered to George who just shrugged. You followed everyone out of the room of requirements into the empty halls and headed towards the great hall. You looked around as you walked everything was the same, it all looked exactly the same but somehow everything felt different.
Once you got to the great hall the doors flew open. Harry was standing behind McGonagall who was standing in front of Snape
"What" everyone turned to the door as you all surrounded Harry. You spotted Ginny, Ron, Hermione and even Luna. You smiled at her, you had no words for how happy you were she escaped. Snape shot a curse towards McGonagall and all of the students gasped some of them ducking. McGonagall shot one back hitting the two death eaters behind Snape as he left the hall. Everyone cheered watching him flee
"Potter" McGonagall turned to Harry and you ran to Luna and threw your arms around her
"I'm so sorry" you whispered "I didn't want to leave you there"
"It's okay Samantha" she hugged you back "I knew there was nothing you could do"
You stepped back and smiled at her Hermione and Ginny running up to you the three of you hugging each other tightly
"Why are you here" you asked Hermione
"We need to find the diadem the ravenclaw diadem" she said sounds slightly panicked. You were about to answer when a small girl let you a loud shriek
"I know that many of you will want to fight some of you may even think to fight is wise" the voice that echoed through your head sent chills up your back
"Give me Harry Potter do this and none shall be harmed"
The voice dissipated and you looked around the great fall locking eyes with George who hurried over to you.
Harry had a few last words with McGonagall before he Ron and Hermione ran out of the hall. Chaos broke out soon afterwords everyone running around preparing for the fight. George held onto your arm tightly as you hurried with him and Fred to the astronomy tower.
"Don't leave my side" George instructed. Kingsley and Remus were up in the tower with you and dean hurried up the stairs behind you. You watched as the protective charms encased hogwarts in a bubble of protection.
"Remus" you heard Tonks calling for her husband as she ran up the stairs
"What are you doing here what about Teddy" Remus asked embracing his wife
"Hell be fine, he's with my mother"
You ran over to Tonks and she hugged you tightly
"I love you" you mumbled into her shoulder and Tonks squeezed you tighter
"I love you too" she smiled at you "now get back over there with George and stick with him"
You nodded going back to George who bumped your shoulder and smiled. You waited for a while before you heard the first distorted boom. A curse had hit the barricade around the school and you jumped
"It's alright love" George squeezed your hand and you looked between him and Fred.

The curses were steadily breaking down the protective charms around you and you knew it would soon be time to fight. You watched the final pieces of protection fall from the sky and for a moment everything was completely silent and no one moved. The quiet was broken by the sounds of explosions coming from the bridge and you watched the whole thing go down you gasped thinking of all of your friends down there. Death eaters swarmed the grounds and you took a step closer to George.
"Here we go" you heard Kingsley call from his spot in the tower. Moments later there were more death eaters than you could count and you were shooting curses at all of them hitting each as you went. George kept glancing over at you and making sure you were alright
"Sectumsempra" you screamed hitting the death eaters behind George
"Nice one" Fred called out as he took down another death eater next to you. The death eaters were not dwindling, for everyone one you killed it seemed three more replaced them. You were overwhelmed and started to grow tired. You got hit with a spell and went flying back hitting the wall behind you
"Samantha" George screamed and you shook your head
"I'm fine I'm fine" you called blocking a curse and shooting one back. The ground started to rumble around you and the walls crumbled, you could hear screaming but it was replaced by a sharp buzz and everything went black.
