60. Welcome Back

You woke up early the next morning to get ready for breakfast with Sirius. You woke George up before heading into the bathroom to brush your teeth and then head downstairs.

"Samantha is George up" Molly asked as she hurried from the kitchen

"we just got an owl from the hospital"
"Is Fred awake" you asked
"We aren't sure but we need to go now"
"I'll go get him"

You ran up the stairs and burst into George's room
"Oi where's the fire" he said pulling his hoodie on

"We need to go to the hospital" you told him "they sent an owl sending for us"
George looked at you and nodded following you downstairs.

You could tell he was nervous you all were, you had no idea what the news could be.

"Ready" Molly asked sating with Arthur in the living room and you both nodded. You each took a turn stepping into the fireplace disappearing  In the green flames.

Once inside the hospital you followed the Weasleys through the halls until you were in the familiar corridor that Fred's room was in.

"Ah Mr. And Mrs. Weasley" the doctor outside of his room greeted "thank you for coming so quickly"

"How's my boy, is he awake" Molly asked
"He was" the doctor said and you smiled up at George who's eyes were glued to the doctor

"he's resting now but you can go in for a minute, he's very tired and weak" the doctor explained

"he's also a bit confused, he seems to have large gaps in his memory"
"But he'll get it all back, right?" George asked
"We hope so but can't say for sure"

You nodded and took George's hand in yours
"But you can go in and say hello for a few minutes now"

You all stepped into his room and Fred woke at the sudden noise

"Oh Fred darling" Molly cooed
"Hi mum" Fred smiled weakly
"Remember me Freddie" George asked stepping closer to his brother

"How could I forget, the ugly twin" Fred smirked making you laugh. Arthur went over to his bed and took Fred's hand in his
"We're so glad to see you son"
You watched and smiled and Fred caught your eye

"Samantha" he smiled up at you
"Glad you remembered Fred"
"How could I forget you" his eyes lingered on your body and you looked up at George who didn't seem to notice.

The Weasleys talked with Fred for a few more minutes before the nurse told you all it was time to leave.

Everyone hugged Fred goodbye and it was finally your turn

"I'm so glad you're alright Freddie" you whispered and Fred kissed your cheek.

You met George outside who couldn't stop smiling
"I'm so glad he's alright" he breathed out finally

"Me too" you smiled up at George and suddenly remembered you were supposed to be meeting Sirius

"I better send an owl" you said walking over to the hospital desk while Molly and Arthur spoke with the doctor about Fred coming home.

Once back at the burrow Molly began preparing for Fred to come home getting clean sheets for his bed making sure there were lots of blankets and pillows at the couch and then she started to cook.

"I can't believe Fred will be home tomorrow" you said sitting down with George
"I can't wait" he smiled

"and then he'll get to come back to the shop"
"One step at a time" Molly said hurrying past the two of you
