CHAPTER 39

Chapter Thirty-nine

The man whom I switched phone with messaged Ami using my number.

I opened it and saw that he messaged me to meet up again.

Hey, sorry for the late reply.
I think I can't meet up with you
tomorrow since I have some

After I replied, I handed back Ami's phone and told her about the message.

"He asked me if we could meet up tomorrow so we can have our phone back but I said that I'm not free tomorrow since I have and emergency" I explain to her.

"What emergency? You're free tomorrow" Ami said.

"The hell?! Of course it's you, you're the emergency so I need to take care of you and some things also especially about the driver" I exclaimed, I really hate it when Ami is being hard-headed.

"Okay, sorry. I just don't want to be a burden to you" she said as she lower her head.

"Look cous, you're not a burden to me okay? We're family so we should take care of each other, I can't afford to lose you" I said and fighting myself not to cry.

"Fine, but enough with the drama, I don't want to cry" Ami said, causing us to laugh.

A few moments later, a nurse came at our section and said that Ami will be transfered to a regular room. Ami can't leave the hospital right now because of her injury on the head, the doctor said that she should stay here in the hospital for a day or two then she can go home after.

While Ami is being transfered to a regular room, I went to the nurse's station to pay for the bills.

I went back and asked the nurse who said that Ami will be transfered on what is her room number.

The nurse said that Ami is on Room 305 so I went there immediately.

When I reached the room, I saw two police men talking to Ami.

"Good Evening ma'am, are you the guardian of Ms. Amizah Maureen?" one of the policeman asked me when I entered the room.

"Yes I am, good evening" I answered.

"Well, we need you to come with us in the police station. We don't need to interrogate Ms. Amizah and we only need to check her condition, it's up to you whether you'll file a lawsuit on the driver after you hear her explanation. The driver also confessed earlier at the police station during the interrogation" the police explained as I looked at Ami who is sitting in her bed while listening.

"Her?" I asked the policeman when I heard what he said about the driver.

"Yes ma'am, the driver is a girl" the policeman answered.

I actually thought that the driver is a male, but I want to know if this is really and accident or someone holds a grudge on us.

But as far as I remember, we don't step on other people. Ami and I usually have our own world. Sometimes we don't interact with other people to avoid those kind of things.

"Do we need to go now?" I asked the police if we need to go to the police station right now.

"Yes, ma'am" the policeman answered.

"But who will take care of my cousin? She needs me here" I said.

"You could ask some of your relatives or close friend mam that can sub you here while you are in the police station, the doctors will also check Ms. Amizah so don't worry to much" the police tried to calm me and suggested about who will be with Ami for a while.

"Hey Moya, don't worry I'm all fine just go with them, it won't take too long right? And I'll just call Bonnie" Ami said.

"Are you sure?" I asked again, I don't want to leave her.

"Yes, you should go now" Ami said as he pointed me the door, signing me to go with the police.

"Okay fine, let's go now Sir" I said towards the police officers and looked at Ami once again who is signaling me to go.

"This way, ma'am" the policeman said and let me lead the way.

The ride was silent as expected until we reach the police station.
