'One little question: Why are we climbing up this cliff if we could just walk a normal path to Liyue?', you say as you struggle to keep up with the pace of the others.

'Because this is the fastest route. If we take the normal way, we wouldn't arrive in time. Paimon has considered everything carefully since Paimon is a good guide.'

'Have you also taken into consideration that I am not used to this intense climbing? I don't want to be a burden, but I think that my fingertips are starting to bleed because of how much grip is required.'

'If you feel like you will fall, tell me in advance so that we can take a break.'

'Yes, I will. Thank you Aether for showing some mercy.'

Despite the immense pain you manage to reach the top.

'Finally... How do the characters in the game manage this? Especially characters like Ningguang.'

'(Y/N), are you listening?'

'Yes, sorry. Here.'

Aether cautiously takes your hands and observes them. 'You weren't joking about the bleeding part... I am sorry, I will patch this up.'

Having now completely bandaged hands, you continue your way. Since your general position is quite high up now you notice how harsh the winds of Mondstadt can blow. The two floating members of your group struggle to not get blown away, so Rosa floats closer to you to hold on to your neck. Paimon on the other hand hides herself in Aether's bag.

After some time you reach another cliff which would probably kill you due to the fact that climbing down is too painful with your hands.

You look at the blonde. 'And what do we do now?'

'We glide.'

'But I have no glider and I don't know how to use it in the first place.'

'That's why you will glide together with me. A glider can carry more than just one person.'

'And you are ok with carrying me?'

'Yes, why shouldn't I?'

'Ever since we left Diluc, he is so calm and casual about everything...'

Both of you stand right before the precipice, though Aether is slightly behind you since he has to carry you.

'A-are you sure that this is a good idea? Maybe there is another way...'

You hear a high-pitched chuckle from somewhere behind. 'Is (Y/N) freaking out? What a poor chicken.'

'I am not a-'

'Bwok bwok bwok.'

'I am not here to be ridiculed by some emergency food.', you think as you take a step forward, loosing the ground under your feet.

Aether quickly jumps after you and puts his arms around you while the wings of his wind glider open up.

'This actually works. Nicer than I expected... Is that-'

'Aether are you ok? Your heart is beating really fast.'

'Y-es, it is only like that b-because we are so high up.', answers a blushing traveler.

'You're so close and soft... It feels so nice.'

Reaching the ground you barely manage to land on something solid and not the water. Not that far way from you, you can see a Statue of the Seven.

'That was fun! Maybe we can do this again in the future.', you look at your friend, awaiting his response, but he is occupied with splashing water on his face. 'Are you really ok?'

'Yes, just give me a moment.'

When Aether is finished you continue. 'Anyways, there we have the first statue dedicated to a different Archon than the Anemo one. I present you Rex Lapis, the Geo Archon, also known as the God of Mora and many other things.'

Paimon observes the statue. 'How much do you know about the Archons?'

'Enough to sound like a stalker. If you want, I can tell you some not-that-important things that don't spoil anything for you later on, but I guess Aether wants to recive his Geo powers first.', you point at the statue.

After the blonde being gifted with the Geo element, you follow the path in front of you further while you tell your group the things concerning Liyue that randomly come into your mind.

'...If I am already talking about Adeptis, once there were Yakshas too. They were beings that had to fight against the lingering hatred of fallen gods from the Archon War. Due to the nature of their task most of them died or vanished over the time. As far as I know only the Anemo one, Alatus, is still alive and I think either Geo or Electro vanished.'

'Was Xiao's backstory important..? Nah, I hope not.'

'And the building over there?'

'That's Wangshu Inn. Paimon, why are you asking me this? Didn't you plan our route to Liyue?'

Paimon shrugs. 'Only until we enter Liyue. Paimon has no maps outside of Mondstadt.'

'What else did I expect?'

You skip visiting the inn since your schedule is too tight for that which slightly irritates a certain someone who happened to overhear your stories that partially contain facts that aren't well-known among the normal public.

On the rest of your way you don't run into anybody besides the guards.

Liyue, the City of Contracts, with all its upcoming chaos, lays before you.
