Childe shrugs. 'Who knows. I personally could imagine that you would give up just so that others are less troubled.'

'And loose in return my sanity in record time? That's one of the last options I have in mind. ...Or is the situation that dire?'

'You can't afford all to many missteps from now on, that's something I can almost guarantee you. Could be worse though.'

'Wouldn't it be better then to move to another nation? Rex Lapis is dead, so we have no reason to stay here anyways.', Aether argues.

'And leave Liyue to the murderer next to me that is planning a genocide?'

'If it weren't for you saving my brother earlier I would tell you that this is reasonable plan. Then I would watch how well you could handle the consequences of that decision. Think of this city as a rat hole. You are the mice and shorty is the cat. What does a cat want its prey to do?'

'About that... This place doesn't have that many bedrooms, only two to be precise. I didn't expect that there would be a day where that many people have to stay here for the night.' Childe's smile seems innocent, yet the way he looks at the Traveler tells you that he isn't done toying with your friend.

'Aether will probably propose that Childe should sleep with his brother and me either alone or with him, so let's shorten this.' You sigh. 'Since your beds are huge, two people can share one room and because of Teucer being your brother you Childe can sleep with him and I will be with Aether then, if that's okay for you two.' Glaring at the Harbinger you signal him that he shouldn't add anything unnecessary to the conversation.

Both of them nod and you go to your rooms. Stepping inside, you see a layout that is very similar to the guest room Teucer is sleeping in currently. he only piece of furniture that is diffent is an extra table with lots of letters scattered on and around it. You are polite enough not to read them. On a shelf that is opposite to the bed are multiple picture frames with what you assume is Childe's family.

'All of them really do look similar... Aether, can we make a picture together once you reunite with your sister? I want to have some sort of physical memory of you before you travel to another world.'

The blonde walks closer to you. 'Why don't you come with us? I am sure you would get along with her just as fine as you get along with me. I would love to have you around.'

'I... don't know. I think I would be a mere hindrance for you. And maybe me tagging along isn't possible to begin with.'

He takes both of your hands and pulls them close to his heart. 'I'll do everything for you to come with us, I promise. I don't want to leave you behind.'

'That's sweet of you. But until that moment comes we have plenty of time, so we should go to sleep for now.' Separating yourself from Aether and let yourself fall down on the incredibly comfortable bed.

'Are you really fine with me sleeping next to you?'

'We have slept next to each other before, so why should it be a problem now?'

'You're right.' He lays down next to you. 'I wanted to a-' Light snoring draws the Travelers attention to the fact that you already fell asleep. 'You were more tired than you have let on. Good night, (Y/N).' He turns around to face you and watches your sleeping form until he too falls asleep.

The next morning he has to say goodbye to the land of dreams as someone shakes him rather violently. 'Wake up, quickly!'

Opening his eyes he sees your blurry figure towering over him. '...(Y/N)..? What's wrong?'

'When I looked outside the window earlier I saw Ganyu who seemed like she is looking for somebody or something. There is the possibility that you're that person and the invite from her is kinda important, therefore you should go outside, buy us a small breakfast and give her a chance to approach you.'

Your fast talking wakes Aether up further. 'Alright. What do you want to eat?' With your assistance he stands up.

'The same you get for yourself, thank you!'
