The house is quite when I enter. I guess it's a good thing because I didn't want to have to deal with chief today. I don't bother turning on the lights in the main room and just take myself upstairs. Copper light creeps from under Harper's door in the corridor. I forgot I had dropped her home hours ago.

"Harper?" I call. Her door swings open as she pokes her head out into the hall.

"What?" She asks.

"Can I come in?"

"Uh, okay." She says opening the door fully. I walk inside and sit on her bed. I haven't been inside her room in years. It hasn't really changed much, hasn't matured like she has.

"How... how are you..."

"I'm good." She tells me. I never really looked at my sister and saw myself. I guess being twins we would have some weird bond but, I never felt like we needed any of it. To be honest, we had a better relationship when we weren't aware.

"Do you still hate me?" I smile. She looks at me with the same look I got the year people found out my mom died.

"No, I don't hate you Jessie." She says.

"Are you okay?" I ask.

"I just......" She takes a breath, ".... I have been ignoring it all for a while and now...... I only realised after he left...." Her eyes begin to tear up. "...because of Xylia we...."

"Harper your nose." I tell her standing to grab her a tissue. As she places the tissue to her nose, I pull her in for a hug. She wraps her free arm around me and I take the opportunity to mess up her hair.

"Jessie knock it off." She smiles pushing me away. Blue is smeared above her lip. This is a first for me, a first in a while. My sister glossy eyed, red faced and broken in front of me, her words vulnerable in the still open air. I felt like we never really needed any of it, but it's all she ever needed. My biological twin, my sister, I'm seeing her for the first time again. That little girl with blazing turquoise eyes and wild hair who vowed to spend her life by my side, imitating my every move now a not so distant memory.

"I love you; you know that right?" I tell her, the girl standing in front of me, my sister. Her hair no longer wild, and her eyes now dim and wet.

"I....I love you too." She says. I smile wiping the blood dripping onto my top lip.
