Lucian moaned as he woke up. It was dark outside...no... curtains covered the light trying to come in. He heard the door open and for a second, he thought it was his mother.

"I brought you a smoothie and some toast." A very deep voice announced. Not his mother. He wanted to cry again as he remembered why it wasn't his mother. She was gone.

Lucian opened his eyes that were wet. He wiped them. "What?" He slid his hands to his head. "Ouch!"

Gabe set the tray on the bed. "Take it slow. Drink up." He handed him a green smoothie.

"Where am I?" Lucian whispered. "I feel like shit!"

"Well...do you remember anything from last night?" Gabe wasn't saying anything.

Lucian readjusted as he sat up. He took the tray from Gabe. He was quiet as he ate the toast quietly and sipped the smoothie. He had to admit this was very nice. "Uh...no? What is this?" He looked at the green drink. He sipped it.

"That is my hangover remedy, apples, avocado and beetroot smoothie. It's good for hangovers." Gabe watched Lucian. How did someone look sexy after a night of drinking? His hair was a mess but it was a hot mess.

"It's good." Lucian gulped it down. "How did I get here?"

Gabe nodded. "I brought you here to make sure you were safe. You didn't want to go home. I slept in the chair. Don't worry."

Lucian nodded. He stopped mid-bite. Holy fuck! He just remembered the conversation he had with Gabe about...Gabe!

Oh no! He dropped the toast. His words echoed. He called him sexy and confessed that he had a crush on Gabe and he wanted to have dirty sex with Gabe. No! He was never going back to school or drinking again. When this got out, he was a dead man!

Gabe could see panic. "Lucian. I didn't hear anything. Kay? When you are ready, I'll show you where the door is." Gabe walked out.

He didn't need to be rejected by Lucian and he wasn't talking about it. He was going to the gym except his gym bag was in his room where Lucian was. Shit. He had to stop the panic flowing through his body.

He paced in the living room. Lucian was still here? He stormed up the steps and walked into his room. Lucian was in bed, curled up, crying. Shit. He sat on the edge. "Lucian." He just rubbed his back. There was nothing to say so he didn't.

Lucian felt like a fool. He was in Gabe's bed, crying. He couldn't stop it either. He hated this, feeling so sad. He missed his mother so badly. He loved that Gabe never said he was sorry or anything stupid.

"Gabe?"

"Yes." Gabe sighed.

"Thanks for helping me last night and...." Lucian was silent.

"Welcome." Gabe sighed again. He felt so bad that Lucian was sad. "Anytime."

Lucian laughed through his tears. "Why are you nice to me?"

"Because I can't be mean to people. It's not who I am, Lucian. Even if you hate me...I will help you. I am always true to myself. It's a promise I made." Gabe smiled at the ceiling.

Lucian sniffed. "I like that. Thanks. And about last night..."

"Don't worry about it." Gabe looked at Lucian's body as he touched his back.

"Will you just...hold me for a minute?" Lucian was quiet and still.

"What?"

"Please, don't make me say it again. Just for a minute and we don't tell a soul!" Lucian was thinking twice about this until he felt the bed move and arms wrapped around him.

Lucian just leaned into the arms and the body as more tears fell. He appreciated that Gabe never said a word either and didn't ask why. Jonah always asked why. He loved that he never had to explain himself to Gabe. He reached up and rubbed Gabe's arm. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
