Gabe was sitting at the lunch table again. He was watching Lucian from across the room again. It was tough to sit here when he spent the weekend with his boyfriend. He couldn't spend time with him at school. He had to be patient.

"Gabe?" Keeley was there. "Gabe? Are you there?"

Gabe blinked. "What?"

"I asked...forget it. How was dinner with your dad and what are you doing for spring break?" Keeley smiled.

"Spring break?" Gabe stared at her.

""Uh, it starts Friday at three?" Keeley stared. "How are you this clueless...unless...are you seeing someone?" He never knew what was going on when he was with someone.

Gabe started laughing but turned red. "What? No!" He cleared his throat. "Nope. I am not..."

"You are the worst liar on the planet!" Keeley glared.

"Well, that is just ridiculous! Have you actually met everyone on this planet and let them all lie to you? No! Then that statement has some flaws in it, right?" Gabe smiled and chuckled a little.

Keeley glared at her friend. "Gabe. Are you seeing someone?" She watched him look down. She gasped. "You are! Who! Come out with it!"

Gabe laughed and looked up at Lucian who was watching him. Gabe looked at Keeley. "I am dating someone but... Keeley, it's complicated. He isn't out. Okay. We're taking our time and I'm waiting until he's ready. Don't miss Prom." He winked at her.

Keeley squealed. "Prom! You're bringing him to Prom! Does he go here?"

"I'm not answering that and please don't ask. This is fragile and I'm in love so don't wreck it for me. Okay? Please. He's my boyfriend but please don't ask questions." Gabe smiled really big. "Keeley, he's awesome!"

Keeley smiled. "Good. So, spring break?"

Gabe laughed. "I don't know yet but..." He told her about his dad and Lucian's dad. She was shocked but saw the humor in it.

Lucian watched Gabe talking with Keeley and he smiled a lot. Lucian loved that smile. He got to sleep in the same bed with that god right there. He wanted to smile but he ate his sandwich that he helped his boyfriend make for him. Man, he loved Gabe. He told him so all weekend and sitting there pretending to hate him was hard. He wasn't ready and the next moment proved how much.

"What in the fuck is your deal with Gabe?" Jonah was there to make things worse.

"What? What do you mean?" Lucian looked at his food. His note today. You are enough just as you are. Quote by Meghan Markle. Wish it was mine.

Jonah stared at Lucian. "How long have I known you?"

"I don't know. Kindergarten? Why?"

"Well, you are off lately. I get that your mother..." Jonah stopped.

"Careful, Jonah." Lucian was ready to punch him.

"I know. I'm sorry. I have never had that experience and I don't know what to do for you but you're acting strange. And... you're staring at Gabe, all the time, Man!" Jonah sighed.

Lucian nodded. "I know. He helped me and I can't figure him out."

"Do you think he's gay?" Jonah smiled. "We probably beat the gay out of him. Look at that body."

"Maybe you should just shut up!" Lucian was close to punching his friend. Soon to be an ex-friend.

"Sorry. Look, I'm worried. First, the staring and second, those lunches? What is up with them? That is like world class food there. Every day? Are you dating a chef? I know you can't cook!"

"I can't say and I'm seeing someone and no, I'm not telling you. We're going slow and it's a secret for now. Okay." Lucian sighed. "Just don't talk about Gabe anymore."

Jonah nodded. "Okay. You have a soft spot for him, I see." He stood and walked off. He had a table of girls to flirt with.

Jonah had a class with Gabe. He sat beside him before the bell rang. "Gabe?"

"Jonah? What are you doing talking to me? Where is your evil sidekick?" Gabe glared. He was looking for Lucian, the evil sidekick.

"He doesn't have this class." Jonah smiled. "I was just curious. Did you notice that Lucian keeps staring at you?"

"I did. I stare back. Sometimes he glares. We have glared for three years, Jonah." Gabe sighed.

"I know. What do you know about the girl he's seeing? She's packing his lunches." Jonah sighed. "He's secretive all of a sudden!"

Gabe glared at Jonah. "I know absolutely nothing about what Lucian does, Jonah. You are his best friend, you ask him! How in the hell would I know or care!" He so cared and happy that he was the girl Lucian was seeing. Gabe opened his notebook to doodle. His notes from yesterday were jotted in there as the page fell open.

Jonah stood and froze. That was the same handwriting as the notes in Lucian's lunches. That didn't make sense. "Those are your notes?" The e's all had the same distinct end tail swish thing as Lucian's notes.

"Yes?"

"You wrote those?" Jonah stared.

"Yes? My notebook so yes. What?" Gabe glared.

"Nothing." Jonah rushed to his seat as he got yelled at by the teacher. Jonah shrugged it off because he had weird things to think about.

Why would Gabe make lunches for Lucian? Maybe someone else was making them and Gabe added the notes? Maybe. Maybe that didn't make sense! He was losing his mind or..maybe Lucian was seeing Gabe? Gabe was making those lunches for Lucian.

Lucian and Gabe. He loved that combination. Maybe they were dating and that explained the behavior and the staring.

He would be annoyed if someone stared at him like Lucian stared at Gabe but Gabe didn't seem to care. Why? Because they were together, secretly? That made the most sense. Lucian and Gabe, that made sense.

Jonah was keeping his mouth shut. He was a good friend but he couldn't risk losing Lucian. Lucian was a good friend to him and they knew each other. He knew that Lucian was hiding something so he was just going to observe for now and be patient. He didn't have a problem with gay people, so he was waiting. He smiled on the inside. Lucian and Gabe...damn.
