Chapter 24

I took the opportunity to give drake a kiss then I said "how are you feeling?"
"I feel like caden needs to know how much we actually love him. Love I think him and Baylee should take over the pack. He's our real son. By right It's him and his mate that should be taking the pack over not Noah or sophie" I was kind of shocked at his revaluation but something inside me clicked "I think your right. But 4 years is not long enough to be trained"
"No it's not but when Baylee hits 18 they should both be more then ready"
"So we hold off until Baylee turns 18? Ok I think your right. We should talk to him about it when this all cools of. But he needs to know he is our son in every way" drake kissed me again and I felt a little joy at our decision. But my father interrupted us then. He came in teary eyed and kissed us both then sat down. "Lisa can't face it love. She's so sorry but with her being pregnant the thought terrifies her"
"I understand and tell her it's ok" he sat a while then caden brought us all coffee by the time we had finished it was time to go.
I lifted DJ and wrapped him up tight and together the four of us left together and met the elder and mum and dad outside.

We were given a white flammable blanket to wrap him in then we placed him on a large stone under the moonlight. Then the elder stood up and said a few words about DJ going to our ancestors and that they will look after him until we get there. Then he tried to light the match but it wouldn't work so caden stepped up and squeezed my hand "I can do it for you mum" I just nodded and he ignited his fingertips earning gasps of disbelief from everyone except drake and myself. But he ignored them and touched his face "il see you later little brother. Rest now" and he lite the cloth on fire and let his hand burn out then he came back and hugged us both. Then he turned around and the 3 of us watched as the smoke raised to the heavens. Going with it was the dark depressing shadow that had been following us around all day.
Drakes mum took over then and sent us inside to rest. She would wait and gather up the ashes and put them in an urn and give them back to us in a few days.

We went straight to the kitchen and we were greeted by everyone eating supper, Baylee came up to me "it's ok mummy DJ is happy now" I smiled at her then looked to drake "I feel it to Baylee he's at peace now" drake smiled then pulled me in for a hug. We sat with everyone listening to what they had done throughout the day. Joining in when we could but soon exhaustion took over and my eyes were starting to close "come you need bed love. Sarah, Debbie are you ok sorting the kids again tonight"
"Ofcourse alpha. You all need time to rest. You go we will sort the babies out" I gave her a small smile "thank you Sarah your both getting a raise" she chuckled then drake said "I second that. Evelyn you to. I don't know what we would do without the 3 of you"
"That's very generous of you both thank you"
"Come on Baylee, caden you need an early night to"
"Don't worry I'm so tired" he yawned and lifted an exhausted Baylee into his arms. When we made our way to the elevator caden looked worried "what is it caden?"
"I'm just a little nervous to sleep on my own. I just keep thinking about what they done to me and her" he closed his eyes and I touched him and my head snapped back

Caden was screaming bloody murder as they used a knife to cut his burning flesh. I could feel the pain and the fear

I snapped out of it then held him and thought of him safe and protected. And any memories be erased from his mind. That he knows what happened but he couldn't see it anymore. And he couldn't feel it anymore and that it no longer bothered him. The elevator chimned and the door opened "if you want you can sleep with Baylee and aspen tonight just so you know you are both safe" he took a large breath and when he released it he looked lighter and when he turned to me he smiled "thank you mum. Night" then he carried an already sleeping Baylee to her room drake and me followed going to our own room "is it a good idea to let them stay in the same room love?" Drake was hesitant so I showed him the vision and he froze in his tracks then looked at me "yes you were right. Martin is going to pay for what he done"
"Yes he is. Now take me to bed and make love to me"
"I'd would be my pleasure" then he kissed me and brought me to bed.
