“Well, when I first moved here, I went to church like every week I could possibly go. Last time I went to church was like, 2 months ago or 3, I don’t know. Anyway, I used to see you in church, sitting with your mom in the corner. I noticed, because, my dad pointed your mom one day to me and then I saw you there. You’d gone to somewhere even before my dad approached your mom and then I’d always searched for you everytime the church was over. So, I’ve known you from the very first I moved here but, I was too dumb to see that you’re actually going to be my baby.” He beams, looking at the ceiling.

“Oh my God, really?” She slightly sits up, prop it with her elbow. Her cheeks become more red as flush wash over her face.

“Yeah.” I look at her, placing the loose strand of her brown hair from her face, behind her small ear.

"I was always ran outside.” She informs. “Because, Nathan’s house is just across the church, behind the driveway.” Jealousy builds in me as I gulp down her past. “It’s just the past. Besides, to be honest, Nathan is nothing compared to you. Even not as close as the comparison of Chanel and H&M.” She remarks, making me burst into laughter. “You are the first one that ever makes me feel like this.” She smiles, leaning in before planting a kiss on my nose then to my lips. Brushing it softly and gently.

“Me too. Especially for someone that never had a girlfriend.” I laugh and lay my head back to my pillow.

She chuckles. “Niall,” She softly calls me.

“Yeah?” I ask as I cross my leg and arm over to her and hug her tightly so her face lands on the crook of my neck. “It’s kind of cold.”

“I know. By the way,” She traces my back. “your dad is a great guy.”

“Yeah, until he left me to fly down to here.” I clutch her chin up to see me.

“Niall, that’s why I needed to tell you something. I felt bad, really.” She sits up, gathering her knees together. I sit up to level her and strokes the back of her body.

“What is it?”

“Your dad flew here on purpose. He—“ She groans. “He left you for me and my mom.”

“What.” I furr my brows and gesture her shoulders to see me. “Your mom and my dad are dating?” I ask her, pretending like an innocent.

“No.” She giggles. “He flew here because, well, he promised my dad to take care of us.” She looks down at our legs that are tangling together.

I can see in her face that she is devastated over it for me. So, apparently, my dad told her. “I know that.” I inform her. “My dad told me everything yesterday. I know your dad, Melanie. He’s an amazing guy, maybe that’s why he left so soon.” I smile at her. “He looks just like you.” I stroke her cheeks.

“Really?” She chuckles.

“Yeah.” I chuckle as I wipe the tears off of her cheeks away. “Now, I know why fate brought us together, because I was supposed to take care of you.” I send her my warmest smile. “I love you.”

She pushes me by her lips crashes against mine as her arms wrap around my neck. She doesn’t reply which makes me slightly disappointed, but I know the way she kisses me and holds me, that she does love me.

It’s 2 in the afternoon, listening to her 1975 cd as she jams around the car, forcing myself to join. I glare at her as she sings through the lyrics of Heart Out, precisely screaming. She never reveals her real voice to me. She did once, and it was amazing. But she then covered her mouth and laughed at me, staring at her angelic voice like an idiot. I drive her through the neighborhood and to her house. We make our way to her house with Mrs. Hills greeting us.

“Hey, Mary.” Mary lets me call her by her nickname. I get inside with a smell of fresh baked bread fills my nostrils.

“Hey, you guys.” Mary lead us to the kitchen and we take a seat on the dinner table. “By the way, Melanie, Jane was here an hour ago.”

“Yeah? What for?” She asks, taking a bite of a bagel, divides it in half and hands me the other side of it. I take it from her hand and take a bite of the warm fresh bagel.

“She said she wanted you to come with her shopping for prom dresses.”

“Oh my God, I can’t believe prom is in two weeks.” She growls. “At least after prom I can enjoy myself on christmas break. By the way, it’s still in 2 weeks, why not later?” She murmurs, making me lightly chuckle.

“Do you even have a date?” I add, teasing.

“Oh, Nialler, the girls are going to get crazy to see you as my prom date.” She shakes her head, taking the last bite of the bagel.

“Why?” I furrow my brows, Mary sending me weird glances, curious of why the girls are crazy about the idea of me. The doorbell rings in sudden, making Melanie jumps out of the chair.

“Maybe he can explain.” She says as she opens the door.
