MELANIE RICHARDS

“What is it?” He finishes the dishes and turn down the tap water, striding closer to me. I now can see his full charming face. I’m dazed by how beautiful he is, hanging out with a crappy girl like me.

I sigh and shift my eyes to the ground. “I ruined everything, didn’t I?” I chuckle sadly.

“What do you mean?” He says softly, his fingers are making their way to my chin and lifts it up so I can see his beautiful blue eyes. Why.

“You know what I mean.” I whine. His fingers that are in my chin traces down to my shoulder, cupping it and strokes my covered-skin with his bare thumb.

NIALL HORAN

“No, I have no idea.” I shrug. “What have you ruined anyway?” I look at her exquisite face. She didn’t ruin anything, she made everything more alive. She’s beautiful in and out and I can’t do anything to assure her that she is. I want to look her happy not like this, feeling herself distressed by no rational reasons.

“I don’t know either, Niall.” She jerks her shoulder away so that my hands are not able to touch her. She slowly walks out of our zone with her fingers run through the strands of her dark brown hair.

“Hey,” I call her out, following her pace and try to grab her hand but she moves it forward so that I can’t feel her velvet skin. My heart aches the way she acts like this. “Melanie, talk to me, please.”

“Don’t,” She still buries her face in her hand, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“Melanie. . .” I softly call her, keep on following her steps, trying to keep up with her.

“Just don’t—Don’t call me that!” She groans and her voice is breaking.

“Then talk to me!” I command.

“I can’t if you keep on calling me that way.” She sobs, still hiding her face from me. She finally sits down on the couch in her living room. Her knees are locked perfectly with her arms. She buries her face in her own embrace.

“Then what should I call you?” I walk towards her, kneeling in front of her on the ground. I stroke her head with my free hand as my other hand holding her arm.

“Just go.” She sobs and lifts her head up, putting her feet onto the ground. Her free hands are wiping the tears that are floating on her eyes and I also join her by wiping her stained cheeks with tears that wet her sweatpants. She finally stops crying.

“Not until you tell me why.” I still hold her altogether with my arms.

“See? You don’t get it Niall.” She says, holding her tears from falling by trying to avoid my existence. “Ever since I met you, everything changed drastically.” Her voice breaks, her face becomes more red than the usual, her eyes are swollen, her nose is flaring in and out and her lips are trembling. “I couldn’t stop thinking about the idea of you when I first saw you and then we met a couple times unexpectedly and—and, it’s hard to—“ She sobs, but doesn’t produce tears from falling down her cheeks. “to be able to feel something that wasn’t supposed to be there. I couldn’t resist myself from seeing you and talking to you. And then,” She inhales. “when we cuddled, it felt amazing to be held, you know? To know you’re safe and sound and comfortable at the same time. And it hurts to know that I’m just a stupid girl expecting something more from a perfect, charming guy like you, Niall. I fell in love before, but the feeling is different. Now, can you leave? Please. I can’t be like this anymore.  I wanted to change.”

I feel guilty for smiling like an idiot in front of the girl you adore break down like this. Everything she said is all I need, the feeling and the adrenaline that I’ve been hiding, rushes through me making my stomach flutter and I feel myself flush at the moment. All I want is her, I need her.

“Melanie, hey,” I pull her palms away from her face, trying to appease her and realize that she stopped crying.

“I told you to leave, Niall. Just go.” She shuts her eyes, refuses to look at my face.

“I don’t want to.”

“Jesus Christ, what am I supposed to do to make you leave?” She finally locks her bright brown eyes into my sinful eyes, my soul that she was supposed to heal.

“Kiss me.” I command unceremoniously.

She blinks rapidly.

I suddenly lean forward in a quick motion, crashing our lips together. The old feeling comes right back and slaps me right on my lips. Her full lips are the opposite of mine, it’s juicy and kissable. Addictive more than any other drugs I’ve tried in my entire life. I feel the vibration that strikes my body and pulls her closer to me. The sudden electricity beats me rapidly as I get to feel her. My hands trail up to her face as I hold her neck kissing every ounce of her lips. I get up and sit next to her on the fluff sofa. Her hands are on my shoulders and grip them tight. I smile throughout the kiss as I slide my tongue into her mouth and she slides hers. She moves her hand to the back of my neck as she tugs my lower brown hair. She suddenly pulls away, trying to catch her breath.
