The next morning, I wake up by a bang on the door. I groan and stand on my foot. I open the door to see my mum standing there, pouting. "What? What do you want? It's stil early." I scowl and walk back to my bed. j

My mum walks into the room and she opens the curtains widely. I quickly cover my eyes with my blanket as I shout at her to get out and get a life. It takes a brief moment for my mum to absorbs it all in and pulls the covers from my bare body. The cold air hits my fresh skin as she slaps my bum. "Niall, get down!" I turn my body to the other side of the bed and I almost yell at mum, asking Melanie's whereabouts.

"Mum! Where's Melanie?" I sit up, my eyes are awareful that I don't bother to stand on my feet and tug my dirty tee off of the ground and putting it back on. My mum's eyes are full of disgust as she sees me wearing dirty clothes and she turns away to go down.

"Who's Melanie?" I can feel she's smirking at how panic I am right now. What if it wasjust a dream? I growl and run down the stairs and a sweet scent of pancake fills my nostrils as I see the back of Melanie's body, still wearing my clothes I put on her last night. She's laughing and talking along with Chris, my step-father.

"My dad's name is Chris, too." She giggles and follows by Chris' chuckle. She picks up the pancake and puts it on the plate, and when she turns around to put the plate back, her brown eyes meet mine. She briefly walks up to me and gives me a kiss on my cheek as she hugs me tightly.

"Good morning too, baby." I hug her back and kiss her forehead. Chris smirks as he exits the room, leaving only the two of us.

"I completely aware of what happened last night, Niall. I did. It was horrible," She looks down, her hands are still pinning to wrap my neck. "I saw the whole thing but it didn't matter anymore because you came. I really wanted to cry and scream but, I couldn't move my body at all. I'm sorry, Niall for everything I did. I'm only in love with you and to Thomas, my love for him is totally different. Please, listen to me. He die—"

"Mel," I appease her by stroking her back with my palm. "I know, Louis told me everything. I'm sorry, Melanie. I'm such a dick and I hate myself for being like one. Please, forgive me, Mel. I was supposed to take care of you."

"I'm sorry for being so selfish that I thought you were going to ruin myvaluable time with Thomas." She cries.

"I'm sorry too, Melanie. It's mainly my fault! I didn't do my best to protect you, look what I did! If your dad's here, he's probably going to kill me!" I groan, turning my body around to avoid facing up to Melanie.

"Can we just. . . stop talking about this? What matters now is you are here." She whimpers. "You're all I have."

"I won't leave you, ever. I promise." I walk back to her and crash my lips against hers. "Melanie," I inhale. "I l—"

"I love you." She smiles, leaning in for another kiss. She giggles as I start to tickle her. The three words she said makes me blush and makes my stomach flutters. "Niall!" She screeches.

"Guess what?" I lift her chin up to me, grinning.

"What?"

"Tommy is very proud of you and me." I nod and point up in attempt to point Thomas.

She laughs loudly as she pushes me away and make her way to me once more to wrap her arms around my neck. "You jerk." She shakes her head.

"And, guess what?"

"What?"

"Your pancake is burned."
