NIALL HORAN

I arrive at the party before anyone else. I always do that. Well, apparently this shit frat house is like my second house. They told me I should be a part of the fraternity but I am more enjoy being with myself, not with some douches running around the house.

I walk to the living room which the usual place where the guys hang. The lights are dimmed that I can't make out a clear vision and it's nearly foggy grey-because of the smoke.

"My leprechaun!" Steve shouts at me with his open arms and a beer in his hand.

"Niall!" Hayes greets me.

I sit on the couch and hear them babbling around until the house is full of people dancing and getting high. I sit still, focusing on the beer bottle after me. Avoiding any further contacts from outside of my zone. Miles and a couple guys earlier are still sitting at the couch. Smoking pot.

"Miles, who are you going to bang for the next party?" Wayne suddenly lifts a conversation to life when Miles steps into the group.

"I don't know. There's this hot chick in my school that I have known a long time," He sits on the floor. "she's nice, and all. But, she's a little awkward."

"How come?" Steve escapes a laugh.

"She doesn't really get into people's attention and she joins extra classes and she doesn't have girlfriends. But, well, she was my friend back when we were in freshman. But not anymore."

"She was your friend?" Wayne asks.

"Yeah. She dated one of my friends a year ago. Then he dumped her. I guess by then, she changed." Miles shrugs. "I'm going to reach out for her, though. Still. She's really nice. Like, really. And hot."

"Good girl gone bad." Steve remarks.

The rest of the party seems just like the ordinary party I had. But this time, I leave sooner than anyone. I'm all dead tired and what I need is just go to sleep.

MELANIE RICHARDS

I wake up with my paper assignments all over my face. I realized I haven't finished my homework. I was dozed by the song Jamie gave to me. He's into indie-grunge which probably not my type at all.

I get myself all set then brighten myself up with earbuds and the Smiths on my ears. Oh, how I love the Smiths.

I would go out tonight

but I haven't got a stitch to wear

this man said "It's gruesome

that someone so handsome should care

I jam around as I drive my car down the road that leads me to the school. I walk down to the building without unplugging my earbuds. It's easier to hear music without noticing other people. Without giving attention to the reality.

"Lenny!" A hand pats my back.

I unplug my earbuds then look around to find Jamie with his casual the XX t-shirt. I lift my eyebrows in attempt to ask what is up.

"Hey, would you mind to come with me to the game after school? Pete canceled on me, he has to go somewhere with his ex-girlfriend." He says, rolling his eyes.

"I can't. I have to run to the library to finish my poetry Mr. Dane gave me, you know, sometimes my room is way too comfy for studying and sometimes internet isn't the right precise answer Mr. Dane wants." I shove my earbuds into my black bag.

"Fuck," He cusses. "Why don't you ever want to go to the game? It's our school's game for God's sake." He chuckles.

"You can come with me to the library." I shrug as I open my locker and shove out my history book.

"You need to stop Mr. Dane from pressuring you all the time, just because you are into poetries or literary shit."

"You need to stop yourself from asking me to go to the game. It has been 3 bloody years."

"You sound like a british man."

"Don't even care."

In history, I keep on stopping myself from smiling, laughing with myself and shutting my eyes off. I need to keep up with history. But, somehow-something's bothering me. Someone, for precise. I shift my eyes around the room without letting my head off of Mrs. Parker's pace. Then I caught Miles' eyes on me. Smiling.

I ignore his existence then write down what Mrs. Parker just wrote on the board.
