NIALL HORAN

I stop my pace right infront of an antique store. My eyes flicker right into the orange lights inside the shop and spot my eyes at the old records that are stacked tidily on the shelf. I walk inside the shop with a ding from the bell hung on the door.

The room smells like dust and dull. I walk over to the old record mixes, looking at the old cassettes to find my eyes lock on one of the 80' collection.

"Take it," An old guy catches me off guard with an old radio in his hand.

"Take what?"

"The old records. People don't usually go here. It has been there for years." He sits on his chair behind the desk. His voice is deep and hoarse.

"No one has ever been here?"

"Not like that. No one has ever bought them. People these days, they use uTunes for songs."

"iTunes." I correct.

"That's what I said. No one collects such things like old records."

" I know someone who does." I mumble. "How much for this one?" I take the dusty record and show it off to him.

"The Smiths? It's for free. Take them." He says squinting his eyes to see the record I hand to him.

"I can't. At least I have to-"

"Name the price."

I stop for a while. I shift my eyes to the stacks. The Smiths : The Queen Is Dead. The Smiths : The Sound of The Smiths 1. The Smiths : The Sound of The Smiths 2.

"What are these? Second-handed records mixtapes?" I show the last tape I hold.

"Yes. People sometimes come by and put things in here randomly." He says, reading his newspaper.

I searched all over the pile. I got loads of good 80's musics. I even found myself a couple of Eagles' albums.

"Can I get 4 of them then I come back another time to get another?" I show him all of the Smiths tapes.

"Sure." He smiles the best smile he had. I think.

"'Kay. Thanks so much." I say, leaving a twenty on his desk.

"No problem, kid." He shouts.

MELANIE RICHARDS

I wake up thinking of how my mom talked to me last night.

"Melanie, just remember. Your real guy is always around."

What was she trying to say? That Jamie is my guy? I scoff at my thoughts then crawl out of my bed. Ending up on the floor. Rolling my body against the hardwood floor. I don't know what has gotten into me. I stand on my feet and get ready to school.

It was just a regular school day for me. Until I caught Miles looking at me, smiling at himself. Is he trying to hit on me or something? Because that will probably be the reason I'm going to pass the date on Friday and call myself sick.

In gym, I got hit by a volleyball and it hurts so bad my head's about to fall off. It's weird because no one has ever passed me balls, I was totally freaking out. Thank God gym's over. After school, I run to Jamie who is waiting for me by the English Class.

"Hey," I tap his shoulder then walk him to the lobby and sit on one of the benches.

"I want to ask you something," Jamie says in a low tone. "Do you have a thing for Miles?"

"No, why would you say that?" I scoff.

"Because I heard Miles and Ethan talking about you. I didn't really hear them, but, I was pretty sure they were talking about you. Swear to God." He shakes his head.

"For starters, Miles asked me to go on a date on Friday." I shrug.

"Yeah? What did you say?"

"I said-sure." I nod. I look right to my next, Luke and Brodie with the same guy. The Irish kid. The Smiths kid. The library kid. It feels like I've known him for a long time, I feel like I want to run into him and talk more about the 80's.

He looks around the building and stops right at my gaze. He smiles broadly as Brodie follows his gaze and meets mine. I quickly look away and face Jamie.

"Your blondie guy is here." Jamie says.

"Shut up." I roll my eyes.

"So, you're still coming with me to Auntie Anne's? I really need the job." He begs.

"Yeah, of course." I nod. "Why don't you call your dad to send some money? I mean, your dad is like a billionaire or something. And you haven't been supplied by him for almost a year. You need to get in touch with him, you know?"

"No, I don't want to. He's done enough." He says. I sigh then shift my head back to my right. The Irish guy is still locking his gaze on me, smiling. I wave at him then shift my head to Jamie, making sure he didn't see it.
