NIALL HORAN.
“She’s asleep.” She ruins my thoughts as I stare at her. I’m pretty sure she was looking at me. A couple girls stare at me, but not in that kind of way. I chuckle and walk over to Bree.
“I should take her to bed.” I pick her thigh and back up. Her head rests back in the air. She’s not that heavy. I guess she’s just one of the girls who are afraid of getting too much food. And replace food with plants.
“Okay.” Melanie walks to the door and hold it for me. “Careful.” She says at the same time I snap her head against the hard wall. “Told you.” She chuckles and makes her eyes up at mine. Then looks away.
As I exit the room, I look up to the stairs and carry Bree out from the crowd. I look back to find Melanie. She’s nowhere to be found. I walk up to any room I can find. Pull the handle and open it by my leg. It gives a low creak and then I put Bree down on the bed. Her arms are on my neck.
“Stay.” She moans.
“Let go.” I duck and let my head free from her grip. I pant and walk outside and close the door. I look around the first level from the dock.
I scan the crowd for Melanie's face. I can’t lose her. I haven’t gotten her number yet.
Her straight dark brunette hair. Her awkward gesture. Her stare. There she is. I study her a few moments. She’s standing by the wall, folding her arms and seems to breathe heavily. She looks around the room as I quickly walk down the stairs and reach for the spot she stood earlier. But she’s gone. I try to scan her face but there are no sign of her face. God, why does it have to be so crowd? I walk around the room and suddenly bump into someone. Miles.
“Miles.” I force a smile.
“Niall! Hey man. How are you doing?” He pulls me into a bro-hug.
“Miles!” A sound of a familiar girl calls him out behind me. I look over to my back and see Melanie. The girl I was just about to find. I smile at her. “Hey.” She greets me with a smile.
MELANIE RICHARDS
“Hey, Lenny, what’s wrong?” Miles holds my shoulder.
“I was just looking for you. Can you take me home? It’s almost 3 and I’m so tired.” I don’t. I’m not tired at all. But I am tired of looking over the crowd and hearing a loud electro music that makes my head spin.
“You can sleep here you know. There are rooms.” He says still gripping my shoulder.
I let a disappointment washes over my face. “Okay.” I let go of his grip and take a look at Niall’s confusion face. I walk away as Miles calls me and reaches for my hand.
“You’re not leaving, are you?” He asks with loudly throughout the crowd.
“No, I’m- I’m just going to grab a drink.” I chuckle and walk out of the bodies to the door. A hand reaches out for my shoulder again as I jerk away harshly. “I’m going to get some air.” I groan and look behind me.
“Hey, it’s me.” That strange accent all over again. Without my awareness, I feel my lips are pulled up into a huge grin.
“Sorry, Niall. I’m leaving. I have to go.” I point out to the driveway. “I’m not going to grab a drink I was just making it all up.” I nervously chuckle.
“I know. Do you want me to drive you?” He leads me out from the door.
I give him a small smile. “No, I’m going to be fine. I’m gonna call a taxi. My house is far from here. So, you wouldn’t want to drive me home.” Nope. I’m not going home. My mom’s going to kill me if I’m home this late with a scent of cigarettes all over my body.
“You’re not even thinking about going home.” He says. “And who calls a cab at 3 in the morning?”
“I’m going home, actually.” I smirk and roll my eyes at him as I continue my pace down to the pavement.
“Are you really going to walk?” He asks and keeps up with my pace.
“Yeah.” I shove my hands down my jeans pocket but then I shove it out again and swing them in the air to prevent themselves from sweating.
“Yeah, right.” He smirks.
“Try me.” I challenge.
“Hey! What about we take an early breakfast?” He grins.
“I’m not a morning person.” I remark as I hold my body with my arms, holding myself from smiling like an idiot.
“Yeah, I know. Just, let's get out of here." He squints his eyes, biting his bottom lip as he jumps up and down in a little pace. His cute gesture brings my lips into a wide grin.
“Why do you want to drive with me so bad?”
“Because you seem to be a non-people person and I atleast try myself to be the only person you like.” He shrugs. “Besides, you should have my number. I don’t want to leave without your number.” He hands his phone.
I giggle and type my phone number and give it back to Niall. “Well-“
“Lenny!” Miles calls from the dock and runs to our way.
“Miles. I’m getting some fresh air. Relax.” I shake my head and roll my eyes to Niall.
