Chapter 58

The next day, I wake up with myself and I hate the fact this is Monday. Niall happened to sleep in his place he said he has something to take care of. He didn’t tell me what it was about and I don’t want to pressure him on telling me. He should have his own privacy and I should be more understanding. I do all the basic routine to go to school and end up putting myself a blue flannel shirt and more of skinny jeans and I wear my black coat since it’s getting colder and colder by the minute. I put on my combat boots before eating my breakfast my mom made me.

“How was yesterday with Niall?” My mom asks as she takes a sip of her coffee.          

“It went perfect.” I mumble.

“Yeah? Well, where is he now?”

“He said he has something to take care of. I better go now,” I look at the time on my phone.

“Are you taking my car?” She asks. Great, my car is now in Carl’s because apparently, it’s Carl’s since I always got sticked up with Niall the past few weeks.

“Well, would you drive me to school?” I ask to her, sliding my black purse across my body.

"Sure, come on.” She takes the keys out of the hangers and drive me to school.

As I walk down the hall, I make my way to my locker and shove an English book out. At the corner of my eyes, I see Jamie walking this way. I turn my body to face him and wave at him. Apparently, he doesn’t even bother to look at me. He walks past me and I arch my brows and continue to look where he’s heading to. Miles. I couldn’t make out what are they saying but I just roll my eyes and growl. The classes bore me as always but I always try to keep up with them. If I can’t socialize and do what the popular girls do in this school, I can always neil my grades. At break, I sit with Thomas and Jane and her friends. Jane’s friends are not the it girls in this school but they’re okay. One of them dated Luke as in Luke Hemmings kid that hangs with Niall all the time.

“Mel, have you found your prom dress for next week?” Cathy asks me. She’s the one that dated Luke.

“Yeah, you?” I ask her back, trying to make a good conversation.

“No, but, would you mind to come with me? The others can’t make it, so, probably it’s just going to be the two of us. Well, with Luke, I guess.” She shrugs.

“Sure, it’s not like I have anything to do after all.” I chuckle, I sound like a loser.

“Okay, cool.” She says. Thomas looks away to see around the cafetaria.

“Would you mind if Thomas comes along?” I ask Cathy. Thomas shifts his head to me, furrowing his brows.

“Yeah, it’s okay. You can ask Niall too if you want.” She giggles.

“Well, just Thomas.” I smile at her.

“Where’s Niall?”

“He still has a class until 3.” I groan.

In gym, I always stick up with Mila and her friend, Lynn. They are the only normal kids in this class. Warnut and her friends are probably the psycho ones. We crack up jokes and they keep on asking me about Niall since they have a crush on Niall. I don’t know where do they found out about me and Niall dating. But they surely know Niall, the hot frat dude. Niall isn’t a frat dude as I keep on assuring them. Warren shoots a glare at me before the class is over but I just ignore her as always. When the school is over, it’s pretty sad because I used to have Jamie along with me. But thank God, Thomas is here. We walk down to Luke’s car with Cathy and Thomas.

“Hey, guys.” Luke greets us. He has an Australian accent and a cute face. I used to have a little crush on him back in 8th grade.

“Hi. This is Thomas, by the way.” I introduce Thomas to Luke who is twisting the ignition. They exchange smiles and he drives us to the mall. I recommend Cathy to go to Macy’s so she obligates me. Me, Thomas and Luke wait for Cathy’s  performance on her dresses on the same couch when I tried on dresses a week ago.
