The car drives up one of the hills in Florida, and we stop by a cliff that overlooks the beautiful blue ocean below. We get out of the car, and I inhale a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. The wind blows through my hair and skin, but the sun still gives me warmth.

Cal and I lean back against the hood of his car, enjoying the breathtaking view before us. Just like when we stopped by the beach last time, I feel calm and peaceful. Cal makes me enjoy every little thing in life, even if it's just as simple as freely breathing and hearing the sound of the waves.

"Do you want to tell me something?" I ask.

"About what?" comes his soft reply.

I turn to him, only to meet his ocean eyes. He's gazing at me. The rays of the setting sun hit his handsome face. To find such a beautiful creature like him staring at me with adoration makes my heart flutter, to the point that it hurts sometimes.

I smile. "I don't know. About your band, perhaps?"

Cal sighs and shifts his eyes to the sky. I've been thinking that he has something to share since we left the band studio.

It's not healthy to keep all your problems to yourself, but then again, Cal isn't the type who would ask someone for help.

"You might hate the story," Cal says, still not looking at me.

I chuckle. "Trust me. I already hate it."

"You would probably leave me," he adds, and that makes me taken aback.

Leave him? That's not possible.

At first, I thought that he was joking, but now as I look at his serious expression, I start to doubt that. I frown, wondering about what's going on.

"Promise me you won't leave me if I tell you the truth." Cal looks into my eyes, and my pulse starts to quicken.

Is it that bad?

Cal tears his gaze away from me and curses. "You deserve to know, though."

The sound of the waves crashing the cliff down below echoes in my ears while my heart waits in anticipation. I know that there's a story behind his band, and I'm prepared to hear that.

"What happened, Cal?" I whisper.

Cal sighs, crossing his arms over his chest while his eyes seem to focus on some clouds hanging in the sky. "Do you still remember when I told you that I joined the band after I finished high school?"

I nod. "Yes, you did tell me that."

"Well, Zavier and I were in the same high school."

I kind of expected that. I wait for him to say more.
