Alter Human Troops.

Alter Humans, are a category of humanity, that had mutated or had otherwise been modified to become either a slightly different or otherwise had been modified to become drastically mutated to the point that they might have been considered a completely different species all togheter.

However, some Alter Human strains were a result of completely natural evolution, after the fall of humankind after the end of its Golden Age. Cut off from the galaxy, the population of some of this worlds would than experience drastic evolution over the course of thousands of years. Eventually evolving into drastically different strains of humanity.

As such, the majority of Alter Humans were either a result of gradual evolution over thousands of years, or, in the case of some species of Alter Humans are a result of genetic and biological alterations that were made during the Golden Age of Humankind, either to create a type of super soldier or to aid populations survive upon harsh and deadly worlds.

Currently, there are a confirmed 784 Confirmed strains of Alter Humans.
However during the modern day of the Kovenant Empire, this number had been reduced to 564 Species still confirmed alive and well and still living within the Kovenant Empire. And most are confirmed to still be alive according to Imperial records.

However this Alter Human species also served within the Kovenant Imperial Army, primarily as Alter Human Troops that were often employed in various roles from Scouting, to frontline Infantry, to fast assault shock troops/Grenadiers.

The Most common types of Alter Humans that were employed in the Imperial military are:
Collosii.
Sand men.
Nekos.
Rad men.
Valkyries.
And many others.

Each of this Alter Humans have their own strengths and weaknesses and are often used in accordance to those strengths and weaknesses. As such it is important to establish the origins and traits of this 4 Alter Human strains, as they are, by far the most commonly seen Alter Humans in Kovenant Military service.

Collosii.

The Collosii, are large humanoid beings that stand well over 7 feet tall.

The Collosii themselves are a result of divergent evolution within multiple planets, particularly those that had a very cold temperatures and high gravity that had been cut off during the fall of the Golden age of Mankind, forcing the humans of this worlds to adapt to their new environments thanks to them not receiving any supplies off world.
This would also result in this ancient humans to begin to grow larger, bulkier, evolving to have thick fat, powerful muscle and a dense bone structure to compensate for their environments.

Eventually this mutations would stabilise, to create the Alter Human strain: Collosii.

Because of their immense strength and toughness, the Kovenant Imperial Army, Kriegsmarine, Aquamarine and even the Luftwaffe would often recruit this Alter Humans into their ranks to forfill various roles.

Additionally, Collosii had retained their intelligence, allowing them to comprehend more advanced technologies such as those utilised within the Military, something that they've heard about but have no experience operations.

Within both the Kriegsmarine and Aquamarine, they were often employed as hard muscle to aid in menial tasks as well as man heavy duty machinery or lift objects that others can't. However they were also frequently employed as ship security and naval troops.

Within the Kovenant Imperial Army however, the Collosii are best employed as shock assault troops.
From war time experiences, Collosii are often best used in tandem with mechanised Infantry formations, as well as working best with Armoured units such as Panzer Regiments in a shock assault role. The standard Collosii will be durable enough to take multiple fatal wounds and still be able to fight effectively until such time that their bodies can no longer handle the strain.
