As with all militaries, military police will always have some kind of role to play in the operations of any Regiment.

As one of the oldest institutions within the military, Regimental Imperial MPs are known as the enforcers of Imperial law within both the individual Regiments and in carrying out their duties in controlling traffic, providing base and supply line security for their Regiments and so on.

As a part of the Kovenant military apparatus and thus, integrated into its operations and the operations of its assigned Regiments, Military Police will be tasked with protecting peoples' lives and property on Imperial Army installations by enforcing military laws and regulations. (Also applies to the soldiers within their assigned Regiment) Asides from this they were also tasked with controlling traffic, preventing any and all crime, as well as responding to all emergencies. Imperial Military police also conduct force protection, anti-terrorism, area security, and police intelligence operations.

Military police also served as base security, as they were typically assigned to guard Regimental HQ and thusly the bases of their assigned Regiments.

They tasks even include secondary functions, such as guiding lost troops to the front lines, helping in organising and getting supply convoys moving, as well as ensuring that the roads and streets are kept clear of anything that might serve to slow down convoys of men, supplies, materials and such.

Recruitment and training.

The recruitment of military police was voluntary, however the Kovenant also chooses to conscript men for its military police forces.
However potential recruits can also be drawn from already existing military units, in which soldiers would

The desired traits for military police are:
1.)Communication skills.
2.)Discipline.
3.)Physical fitness.
4.)Experience in enforcing law and order. (I.e being a former Police officer.)
5.) Has a calm and strict attitude in enforcing military regulations.
6.) Has a clean disciplinary and has no criminal records.

For this reason the best recruits for military police duties are former police officer or those who have had experience with law enforcement before joining the military. However those soldiers who show the greatest capacity for following Imperial Army regulations were also considered for training as military police.
Additional training would include law enforcement and security training varies by branch of the military (I.e. Luftwaffe, Imperial Army or any other branch)

Organisation.

Because of the specialised role that they play within the Kovenant Imperial Army, this men and women were typically not assigned to individual companies. Rather they were part of the 50,000 men of Company assigned directly to Regimental HQ.
Where Combat Pioneers make up 30,000 of that number, Military Police takes up 20,000 of the strength authorised to the Regimental HQ.

From there they would be divided into their own Battalions, Brigades, Platoons and lastly squads.

With each MP Battalion containing up to 10,000 each and with its Brigades containing up to 1000 soldiers and than below them were 200 man strong Platoons and 13 men strong Squads.

Military Police as a part of the military did not wear any kind of distinct uniforms, rather they wear the uniforms of the units that they were assigned to.
An example would be MPs wearing Panzer Grenadier uniforms when assigned to a Panzer Regiment or MPs wearing Luftwaffe fatigues when assigned to a Luftwaffe air base.

Indeed the only distinctive feature was the fact they wear a metal plate that hung around their neck and tested upon their chest.
Another was the fact that they also wear an armed band around their left sleeve that detonated them being MPs.
