She holds the cup with Tristan's hand on hers and some kid runs across the kitchen, shouting in excitement as he looked clearly drunk and that brought them to reality.
Angel cleared her throat and looked around her as if looking for something else to look at.
"I'm glad you came" Tristan uttered and Angel's eyes met with Tristan's.
"I'm glad you're here Angel. I wanted to call you or approach you in the cafeteria but you seem to be in a bad mood at the time so I just ...."
"Yeah. Of course" she says, not believing him. She picks her cup and heads out the back.
Tristan follows and she notices.
"What do you want, Tristan? Aren't you here with your girlfriend" she says, emphasizing on the word. Tristan looked at her confused.

"Oh please. Don't play pretend with me," She added.
"I don't know what you're talking about Angel. Girlfriend?" Tristan asked and for a moment Angel felt stupid, of course Tristan wasn't like one of those boys.
She quickly keeps a face that didn't sell her out.

"Well what do you want?" She asked again.
"Don't you even want to talk? Don't you miss me? Because I do..." Tristan said and those words made her cold.
Tristan's hands found her arms and he grabbed them gently.
"Angel, please talk to me" Tristan says, with a broken voice. Angel felt it and she looked up at him.
"I-I don't know what to say." Angel stuttered.
Tristan let go of her arms.

"Are you still engaged?" Tristan asked and that was when Angel realized this wasn't just about talking. This was much more. She was fucking engaged and is going to marry some dude she doesn't even know or love and then she remembers her mom, how tricky she could get.

"I'm sorry. I should go" Angel replied and with that she ran out of the house. Tristan followed, the sound of the music fades gradually as they run out.

"Angel! Angel!" Tristan called, out but she didn't stop.

"Please Angel. I love you!!" He shouts and that makes her stop on her tracks.

She froze and struggled to move her legs to turn around. Tristan's pace reduced.
"I love you Angel. I've lost you before and I-I"
"Stop!" Angel says, with heavy tears flowing down her cheeks.

"You're making it worse!" She shouts.
"You are my world Tris. You make me feel what I have never felt for anyone, you make me love myself the right way...." she shouts in between sobs

"I love you so much Tristan but I don't know how to do this. My mom-she-she" Angel couldn't hold it so she burst into tears.
Tristan rushes to her and hugs her tightly.
"I'm so sorry Angel" he whispered with a tight hug.

They stay that way for a few minutes before departing.

"I should head home" Angel says and Tristan just nodded.
"I'll drive you home, please don't say no" he replied and Angel smiled faintly. She had no intention of saying no in the first place.

The whole ride home was quiet and once Tristan got to Angel's house, he stopped the car and got out.
"How are you getting home?" Angel asked, weakly, looking around the dark streets that was only illuminated by the street lights.

"I'll be fine" he replied, then walked to where Angel stood.
"I've missed you so much Angel. Can we talk tomorrow? Please?" Tristan requested.
"But somewhere private" she replied, looking back at her house.
"I agree. How about the food truck? Don't have lunch. I'll meet you there by 2" he says and they both agreed.
"But that's not private" Angel added.
"We'll meet there then drive somewhere that is" Tristan replied.

Tristan turned to leave but Angel's voice stopped him. She walked to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. They both smiled and went their separate ways.

Angel drove in, feeling a lot better. Unknown to her, her mom parked just across the streets as she was driving back from an outing. She saw everything and that made her furious.
