"What?"
Angel asked the doctor who was looking for a way to give the heartbreaking information.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Dylan couldn't survive the surgery. He had sustained many internal injuries plus the bullet and the fall. We tried our best but we couldn't........ I'm sorry" he finally finished and that was when the words from all of them seize to come out. This wasn't just a normal accident, Dylan was truly dead and that means he wasn't coming back, ever.
They followed the doctor to the room he was kept and saw him covered, the guys were more than heartbroken. They've all lost a brother and a big one. Dylan was always there for all of them.
The guys went over to Tristan's who was still on the bed, with one leg wrapped. He turned when he saw his friends and just that moment when Angel sighted him. Tears came running down. The rest went to him and hugged him gently.
Tristan laughs "dudes, it's just my leg, it's not as if I'm gonna die or something." He jokes but no one laughed. That was weird, he thought. He remembered Dylan immediately.
"Uhm where's Dylan?" He asks and there was a weird look between everyone. He furrowed his brows in confusion.
"Guys, I don't do well with the silent mood. Where is he?" He asks again and this time Austin couldn't hold it any longer and so he burst into tears. Followed by the rest of them.
That was when Tristan knew something bad had happened but he didn't want to think about it. He didn't want the reality of thinking something that terrible had happened.
He looked at Angel who gave him a sad expression, shaking her head.
"No, I really wanna see him. NOW!!!" He shouts
"We lost him, Tristan" Nathan speaks and that moment, time stopped for Tristan. Dylan was the closest to him, many times Dylan had sacrificed for Tristan and now he wishes he could do the same for him too.
"This is my fault, if he didn't save my life, then he'd still be alive right now. This is my fault" Tristan cries and hit the plate with drugs on them, causing it to fall off the table and crash on the floor. He screams out of agony.
"Hey, it's not your fault. And we were all in this together. He was looking out for us and anyone amongst us would have done the same for him" Nathan console Tristan. They were all crying when the doctor came in.
"I'm sorry about your friend. But you have to call his parents." He speaks.
"Can I see him please?" Tristan asked and the doctor nodded sadly. They moved him on a wheel chair to the morgue. Tristan's leg was in a bad shape so he couldn't walk yet.
On getting to the room where Dylan's body was kept. He hesitated a little before entering the room. The body was pulled out and immediately Tristan saw his friend's body, he busted into tears. He cried profusely and the rest cried along. His leg hurt before but right now he couldn't feel them anymore. He fell to the floor with a broken heart.
They called Dylan's parents and the rest were taken care off.
••••••••••••••••••••••
Tristan has decided to shot everyone out. He believes he's protecting them by doing so because he thinks it's all his fault. If he hadn't called them over for help Dylan would still be alive right now.
Jamie has been trying to get Tristan to eat something but he has refused. The rest of the guys went back home, for now.
Austin and Dylan were waiting for the schools they applied for to call them, they were a year ahead of the rest. While Nathan and Tristan were seniors, this was their last year in High school.
