Maya's Sister

Rushing

Two weeks later Mia was getting news that night. She was getting news weather she was on the run for the national team
Or not.
Hard weeks where coming up if she did make it to be on the run. Exhausting trainings none stop to try make it to the national competitions.
She hadn't tell Maya yet. Not even that she had been offered that opportunity.

"Woah" said Maya as she walked into the kitchen "this smells amazing" she said as she placed her arms round carinas waist and kissed her
"Someone's hungry?" Smiled Carina and maya nodded as she laughed
"Mia?" Asked Maya
"Probably doing homework, heard her up this morning quite early" said Carina
"Yeah she must have gone out for an early run" said Maya as she called out for Mia and some minutes later she jogged out of her room. She had probably been on her laptop since she was wearing glasses which she never used while being around other people. But due to her nerves she probably forgot to take them off
"Hey Einstein" smiled Maya as she looked at Mia who embarrassedly quickly took off her glasses and put them away in her pocket
"Hey come on" said Maya "I'm kidding" she said as she followed her into the kitchen "you can use your glasses around us" she said smiling
"I don't want to" smiled Mia as she grabbed the plates
"I really love your glasses" said Carina nicely
"Oh I don't" laughed Mia
"But anyway you need them so come on use them, at least here with us since I know you won't ever use them in your classes" said Maya
Mia rolled her eyes and put her glasses back on
"There you go" she said as she playfully hit the back of Mia's head "now you can see me" she said laughing
Mia chuckled and said "shut it" as Carina came over with dinner
"Woah. This smells amazing Carina. Thank you so much" said Mia and Carina smiled widely and said "you're always welcome"
The three of them had dinner and talked about random stuff and Mia decided she'd tell them.
"So" said Mia "I need to tell you both something but, I really need you not to get over your minds with this" she said
"Everything okay?" Asked Maya and Mia nodded
"I've been on the run for the hockey national team, I'm getting the call tonight. If I'm in" she said and Maya exchanged a look with Carina and both turned back to Mia
"Mia that's amazing!" yelled Maya as she looked at her in amazement
"Mia I'm so happy for you" said Carina as she smiled
"Thanks both, but, you I'm the youngest one from the possible player so chances are I won't make it" said Mia
"So what?" asked Maya "being younger means nothing" she said smiling and Mia shrugged her shoulders "it doesn't" said Maya seriously
"I just don't want to get my hopes up that's all" said Mia
"I get that but, being preselected that's a big deal weather your make it or not" said Maya

After dinner Maya and Carina were watching a movie cuddled up in the couch as Mia was doing homework in her room.
"Someone can't stop smiling" laughed Carina
"I'm just happy for her" said Maya as she shrugged her shoulders
"I love how big sister you're" smiled Carina
Mia came in rushing with her laptop under her arm
"Mia?" Smiled Carina
"Mail. The... the mail I revived it" she mumbled
"And?!..." asked Maya as she got up from the couch
"I.. I can't open it" said Mia as she shook her head "you, you do it" she said handing her the computer over to maya
"You sure you want me to?" Asked Maya and Mia nodded
Maya grabbed the computer and sat down next to Carina as she read through the mail as Mia paced back and forth in the leaving room.
"Mia" said Carina as she held Maya's hand
"Bad?" Asked Mia as she had her hands on her head
Maya got up as she head over to hug her
"You know there'll be other chances" she said and Mia nodded pretending like it didn't get to her
"Other chances for other girls, cause you made it!" Yelled Carina as she got up and Mia's face almost dropped
"What?!" She yelled as she clanged on to maya as she hugged her tightly
"Congratulations!" Said Carina as she walked over to hug her and Maya's face looked like Christmas morning
"Oh my" said Mia as she still couldn't believe it
"You did it" said Maya as she kissed Mia's head
"I'm in" said Mia as she looked at the mail
"You're in" smiled Carina as she hugged maya
"Seems like someone isn't gonna sleep much tonight" laughed Maya as she looked at Mia who looked like her energies were gonna explode

As Mia was calling everyone she knew in her room Maya and Carina got ready for bed.
"Are you going to tell your parents?" Asked Carina as she opened the bed
"About the news?" Asked Maya and Carina nodded
"I don't know" she admitted "should I? I mean not yet tho. I haven't really talked to Mia about that situation"
"No no, I mean cause she is a minor so, they would have to contact your parents and I'm not sure that's what Mia wants" reasoned Carina and Maya nodded
As they were both in bed Mia texted her
"First practice tomorrow morning, 6am to 8am before school"
As they both read it and exchanged a look
"Oh god" said Carina
"Yeah" said Maya  "Seems like this is going to be a hell of a road"

Next morning at 5:30 Mia was already ready for her practice. She probably hadn't closed an eye in the whole night.
"Ready?" Asked Maya as she walked into the leaving room and Mia nodded
Both sisters drove away.
After Mia went into the pitch Maya drove back home to find Carina in the kitchen making breakfast
"so?" she asked excitedly as she walked over to Maya
"she looked so young" said Maya "she is indeed the youngest one" she smiled
"she is young but, she knows what she is doing" said Carina as she kissed Maya's cheek and placed her hands round her waits.
"Do you know what you are doing?" smiled Maya pointing at Carina's hands
"oh yeah" she smiled "I certainly know" she said kissing her lips
