Carina's POV
"I think it's a little too early yet" I said as we were getting changed
"She's just going to stay at the lounge" said Maya as she handed me over my shirt "you're heading over to work so am I and she can't stay on her own"
"I know but..." I began
"Car what's going on?" She asked as she turned to me
"Nothing" I shrugged
"Cari..." she began again
"Maya it's okay. You're right" I said not wanting to pick up the subject
"You're not alright" she said as she walked closer
"What if something happens to her again" I breathed out "what if the same kinda stupid mistake I did makes..."
"Woah. No" she said sternly "there's not even a chance you're considering this was your fault Carina." She said "this was not your fault. Okay?"
"I got her on that bike" I said as I felt my tears in my eyes "I placed her on that bike, and then I saw her in the trauma room. Just like I had seen Andrea"
"Stop. Carina stop right now" She said and I turned to her "look at me"
"Maya" I began
"None of this was your fault. You can't blame yourself on this" she said "there's only one person who is guilty here. And you and I both perfectly know it's not you"
I nodded as she wrapped her arms tightly round me
"I love you" she whispered as she placed a kiss on my cheek
"Love you too" I smiled
"Maya?!" We heard
Maya's POV
I smiled as I jogged out of the room and knocked on her door
"You alright?" I asked as I opened the door
"Can't really do any kinda shirt with this stupid splint" she said as she threw it down
"Okay, easy" I said as I walked closer "I know how frustrating is"
"Can't even put my shirt on, I'm not going to play ever again at this point" she said
"You can't put your shirt on, cause you dislocated your shoulder." I said as I helped her with it "it's going to get better, and in the mean time you need to let us help you" I said
"Thanks" she said as she stood up clutching her ribs sitting back down and I sighted
"Mia" I said calmly trying not to lose it "your ribs are broken" I said "you need to be careful alright? You will get better, you'll be back in your game now please. Please just rest, let people help and you'll get better"
She nodded as I helped her up "now come on" I said "lets head to the Station"
"And in the afternoon" she began
"Yes lady, I'm aware. In the afternoon your friend is coming over" I said "haven't forgot that part"
"Alright captain, just checking" she laughed
