Carina's POV
"Maya! Maya" I said as I tried to get her attention "stop"
"Maya stop" said Andy as she grabbed her together with me
"Let me go!" She demanded "I want that women in jail!"
"Maya stop yelling, Mia's sleeping" Andy said holding her
"And she's okay Maya. That's the important thing. Mia is alright" I said trying to convince myself as well
"She was drunk Carina! A drunk women crashed into my sister!" She yelled "she deserves to be in jail to be locked down"
"'Maya!" I said indicating her to shut it as Arizona and Callie jogged over
"Hey hey, what's going on?" Asked Callie as both of them walked in
"I'm going after her now!" Said Maya passing over Andy who tried to catch her again but it was useless
I grabbed my head just looking at Andy uselessly
"Go go, we'll stay here" said Arizona and Andy and I exchanged a look and rushed out after her
"Maya stop!" I said as I stood in front of her "Maya look at me" I said as I looked into her eyes filled with rage
"What?!" She yelled
"Calm down" said Andy "breathe. Mia is alright. She's alive. She's going to get better" she said "we'll go talk to the police okay? We will just calm down"
I looked at Andy and nodded as the three of us headed over to reception to talk to the police
Arizona's POV
"Did you hear about the woman who was driving?" Asked Callie
"I don't even want to think about that. I can't even start to imagine how Maya feels" I said shaking my head
"I'd want her in jail too" said Callie
As I turned to Callie we heard a murmure and looked down at Mia who was starting to wake up
"Hey" smiled Callie as her eyes opened
"Hey" she almost whispered as her voice began to come back and tried to sit up
"No no" I smiled getting her back down "that's going to hurt for a while"
"Let's get Amelia in here" said Callie to a nurse and in seconds she was over
"Hey" she whispered as she came in "how are we doing here?" She asked
"We're doing great" I smiled as Callie talked to Mia
"Mia can you remember what happened?" Asked Amelia as she got closer
"I was... I was brining Carina some papers. I was waiting at a light and when it turned green. That's all I recall. Sorry" she said
"No no, that's great. That's amazing" smiled Amelia as she passed the torch through her eyes.
"Where's Maya?" She asked "and Carina"
"They'll be right right back" I smiled and as I said that their voices could be heard
"She's going to jail Carina. She's doing to jail. I should have done all of this as soon as it happened!" Maya yelled
"Maya, easy" said Andy "they're processing the case. And if not we'll contact PD" said Andy
"I'm getting this woman into prison Andy!" She yelled and before she could answer again Andy shushed her up.
"What?" Maya asked in an irritated tone
Carina's POV
Maya was way over her head. Her mind was spinning at 100 miles per hour. You could see the smoke coming out of her eyes and mouth.
"Look" said Andy smiling and as we all turned we saw Mia awake. Smiling
"Hey you" said Maya who was instantly smiling and rushed over to her side "hey"
"Hey" said Mia in a low tone
"How? How are you feeling" she asked
"I'm okay" said Mia "I'm really okay" she said
I looked over at Arizona and Callie who came closer
"She's okay" said Arizona "she can get discharged tomorrow morning. She just woke up. Everything seems okay"
I sighted in relief and looked over at Andy who was smiling and hugged me as we got closer to Mia's bed
"Mini Maya" said Andy as Mia smiled
"Hey Andy" she said smiling and then saw me
"Carina I'm really sorry, the papers. I don't... they're" she began and I could feel a tear rolling down my face which I quicly cleaned it away
"Sorry..." I said as my voice began to break and I noticed a confused look on her face
"Carina I'm sorry" she said thinking I was mad
"No no, don't be, none of this was your fault" I said as I stroked her hair
"the driver" she said "is he...?" she asked
Andy and Maya exchanged a glare and Andy said "It was a woman, who bumped you but we've got it under control" She smiled
"don't worry about it" smiled Maya
"now" laughed Amelia "you've got a concussion" she said "an interesting one, so, you should really get sleep"
"rest, so we can discharge you tomorrow in the morning" smiled Callie
"we'll be back soon" said Arizona and I walked after the three of them to talk
Maya's POV
"you think this was my fault?" I asked Andy as Mia fell asleep and we walked over to the cafeteria
"what?" she asked confused "your fault? Maya what are you talking about" she said
"I just, I knew the bike was a bad idea I never liked it and I could have taken her keys away" I said
"stop, stop just, just stop" said Andy as she handed me over a coffee "non of this was your fault, not your fault nor Carina's fault. Clear? There's only one person to guilt here and that's being taken care of. Stop punishing yourself about something which you've got no guilt for."
"Carina blames herself" I said as I looked at her
"same case, she knows it wasn't her fault" said Andy "both of you need to realise you're doing a hell of a job with Mia. You're taking care of her, being there for her, that's all she needs Maya. Stop taking it that hard on yourself"
Carina's POV
After checking on a patient I walked over to Mia's room to find Maya asleep on the chair next to the bed, I slowly walked over and kissed her cheek
"hey" she murmured as she woke up
"hey" I smiled "go home" I said
"No no, I'll stay here" she said as stretched her arms
"I'm on call, I'll sleep here, you've got your important meeting on the morning, you can be right back after it and be here for when they discharge her" I said "I won't move an inch from here" I smiled
"you're the best" she said as she pecked my lips
"yeah I know" I smiled "go rest my love" I said as she walked out of the room and I sat down with my laptop to do some charting
"hey" I heard Mia saying as she woke up
"hey bambina how are you feeling?" I asked as I closed my laptop
"quite okay" she said
"pain?" I asked and she shook her head "that's great" I smiled "It's quite late, you should sleep. I'll wake you when they're ready to discharge you" I said and she nodded falling asleep almost instantly after it.
