The outfit I had decided to wear from Sarah's closet was very uncomfortable.

Rafe immediately objected when I brought out the black shorts and light blue top that wrapped over my chest and exposed the valley between my boobs. He claimed it was too exposing, and he wasn't wrong. It was a very revealing outfit. Although I wasn't going to take advice from a boy, especially one who wasn't my boyfriend.

The material wasn't the part that was uncomfortable though, it was the stares that I got because of the outfit. People here don't seem to like me very much, but I knew that already. I should've expected the stares to come.

The party was completely packed, people I recognized from school remained shoulder to shoulder throughout the large but typical Kook looking house.

It looked like every other party. If you were somebody, you get invited to these things. Pogues - we're never allowed. But that's already well known.

"We'll be right back," Rafe says while putting a hand on the small of my back. I feel him rub his hand soothingly on my bare skin. "I'll find you in a minute, okay?"

"Where are you going?" I ask, eyes full of concern. He takes my hand and squeezes it tightly.

"They want to meet with someone real quick," He tells me. "You shouldn't come."

"Why not?" I ask, scrunching my brows together. He runs his hand along his jaw line, trying to think of something to say. "Do I know them?"

"No," He shakes his head. "It's fine angel. I'll come find you in a bit."

I wanted to respect their wishes by not following them. It wouldn't be right of me, especially since he clearly said I couldn't come for whatever reason. However I was curious as to what they were up to. Rafe told me everything, or at least the majority of it. Who could he possibly be meeting with?

I brush off what just happened, and I walk into the party. I immediately spot Scarlett and she jumps up from the couch she was sitting on. She lets out a squeal as she runs over to me and hugs me tightly.

"I missed you!" She shouts into my ear. "How are you? Where's Sarah?"

I shrug, "She's been MIA this past week or two."

"That's so weird, she texted me we all should get together and she just never responded afterwards," She explains. "Anyway, lets get you a drink."

I nod, allowing her to grab my hand in hers as she leads me to the kitchen. Scarlett was a good friend, but we weren't particularly close. She was the type of person I'd sit next to in class or in the cafeteria. Other than that, we didn't talk much outside of school.

"Did you come alone?" She asks as she grabs a red solo cup from the stack.

"I came with the boys," I explain. She gives me a look and I tilt my head in confusion.

"I heard you and Rafe have a thing for each other," She says with a mischievous grin. "At least that's the talk around town right now." That just happened. How was it already spreading around that Rafe and I kissed?

"Where did you hear that from?" I ask, pretending like it wasn't true. "We're friends, but we've gotten closer this summer, yeah."

"Maybe it was just a stupid rumor then," Scarlett says with a shrug. "Amelia was talking about it just a couple of minutes ago. She didn't sound too happy."

"Rafe told me that she went over to his house unannounced and tried to kiss him," I tell her as she hands me the mixed drink. "It didn't go well for her."
