I roll over onto my side in the middle of the night, immediately noticing that Corrine was asleep next to me.
Girls who snore was something that was always a turn off, not that I had let many stay over. But any time I was awoken from loud obnoxious snoring, I immediately came to the conclusion I'd never speak to them again. I'm not sure why, it was always just something I was never attracted to.
But with my Corrine, god it was different.
She didn't snore loudly, it was these cute little soft snores every once in a while. I find comfort from it to be honest with you. It made me sleep better, knowing that I could hear those little snores emitting from her.
I fucking love everything about her. I could seriously go on for hours about all the things I love about her.
I didn't expect her to create such an impact on my life. I was always attracted to her, but I've come to the realization that my initial judgment was way off about her. She's not one of those basic girls that you'd find around every corner on the Kook side.
Every girl just throws themselves at me, and for a while it was nice not having to put any effort in to go home with a girl. Every party I went to I'd always find someone to take home that night. For a while I thought every girl was easy, but not her.
She was the only girl to put up a fight and actually reject me for a while. Something about the chase man, it ignites a fire inside of me. A fire that only she can control. She can erupt it so much so that I think it's starting to create a whole different person.
At the same time though, she could also be the one to put it out.
I hear a light knock on my door, and it opens a second later. My dad sticks his head in, and I slowly sit up. My brows furrow as I notice he's holding something black in his hand.
"I need to speak with you," His voice was quiet, but not quiet enough for me not to hear him. Without saying anything else, I slowly get out of bed. Careful not to wake Corrine, I step softly towards my door.
I glance back at her to see she still had her eyes closed, hopefully it stays that way. I know that it's doesn't involve anything good when my dad comes to get me in the middle of the night. I slowly shut the door and follow my dad down the hall.
"What's up?" I ask as I follow him down the stairs.
"Not here," is all he says. This must've been about the gun, I was trying to find him all day to talk about it. He was no where to be found. Hopefully he isn't mad.
We take a long quiet walk out to the dock, where our boat silently wades back and forth all night. My dad grabs onto one of the tool kits and flips it open. The lid smacks against the table loudly.
"Did you get it?" He asks. I sigh, knowing I was going to disappoint him. I was afraid of his answer, should I just lie?
You don't even have the gun you idiot don't lie.
"No," I say quietly. He sighs. My eyes scan his expression, trying to find any familiar look of disappointment. "I looked everywhere though."
"Dammit," He snaps as he slams the lid to the tool box closed.
"I swear to God I looked everywhere Dad," I quickly defend. "I'm sorry."
"I know, I'm not mad at you. I'm just...stressed about this whole situation." He's not mad? I stuff my hands into the pockets of my grey sweatpants and stare at him with his hands above his head.
