"He just like, cornered you?"

I nod, "I swear I thought he was going to shove me down the stairs." A sigh that reeked of frustration leaves Sarah's mouth.

"Did you stand up for yourself?" She asks, eyes staring at me with concern.

"I did, surprisingly," I say with a chuckle, not that this was at all funny. Just because it was ironic that I did, I used to just keep my mouth shut around him.

"Well, I'm proud of you," Sarah says with a sigh. "And I'm happy that Rafe was there last night."

"He pulled me away," I say with an appreciative nod.

"At least my brother can do one thing right."

I purse my lips as I watch the families that had gathered at the clubhouse for lunch, just as we did. We've had too many mimosas today, so it was about time to go home.

"What happened with you?" I ask as my eyes find my way back to my friend. I take the last sip of my alcoholic fruity drink.

"Topper and I were on the roof right, and we were getting in the heat of things-"

"Sarah, if this is a story that contains too much detail, I don't know if I want to hear it." It always made me cringe to hear her talk about her and Topper's sex life.

"No, it's not I swear." I purse my lips, but nod. Wait, that's where she was at Topper's the other night? On the roof, while Rafe out of all people had my back.

"He asked me if I wanted to have sex," Sarah explains with her brows furrowed. "And I said yes, like we talked about you know?" I nod. "But I don't know why I did."

"What do you mean?"

"I was buzzed Cory, and it didn't feel right," She swallows something hard and shakes her head. "I wasn't feeling it for some reason."

"Which is fine," I tell her. "You're allowed to tell him no."

"But I told him yes first," She tries to cover for him. "So I was being a complete idiot."

I tilt my head, "How were you being an idiot?"

"I was a tease," She explains. I shake my head immediately. "And I made myself look bad."

"Did he tell you that?" I ask bitterly.

"Not exactly, but-" she shrugs as if she was embarrassed "-he stormed away after I told him 'not tonight'."

What the fuck?

"He got pissed at you for telling him no?" I was starting to get angry, Sarah had every right to tell him no. And he should respect that.

"Well I said yes at first so-"

"So nothing!" I almost shout. "No means no, even if you say yes initially. And he shouldn't get pissed at you for that."

She slowly nods while she looks at her hands, "You're right." No shit I'm right.

"What a douchebag" I say while shaking my head. "I can't believe he got pissed and then had the audacity to walk away from you."

"He gets pissed like that a lot," She purses her lips. It just keeps getting worse and worse. "It's fine, he got over it just that night."

It wasn't fine. Nothing close to fine, and it was sad how Sarah was justifying his behavior. He shouldn't treat her like that.

"If he does that shit around me, I hope you know I'm saying something," I tell her.

"I'll handle it," She reassures me.
