A/N: Sorry loves this one's super long.
______________________I couldn't keep my eyes off Rafe tonight.
That blue suit was not that attractive at first glance, I'm really not going to lie. But I still find myself scanning the crowd every so often, looking for him. And when I do, I find that he's already staring at me.
He makes me so fucking nervous, it's frustrating. I shouldn't lose my wording with him, or feel my palms start to sweat when he touches the small of my back. But I do.
I don't know if it's the two drinks I've had already, or if something's in the air. But I can't stop thinking about him. And I don't know why.
As I watch the sunset, I push the concept out of my brain. It had a pretty orange color, floating just over the horizon. As I'm not so subtly sipping another glass of champagne, I find myself looking at it in awe. My elbows were resting on the little circular table that reached almost to my stomach.
This night had been going surprisingly well. Maggie and my father had stayed away for the most part, I definitely didn't want to see the pair of them all over each other the whole night.
"Dude," I hear Sarah's voice shout from behind me. I turn around, my brows raised. "Topper will not stop questioning me."
"About what?" She also, has a drink in her hand.
"He's just hovering," She huffs out as she to leans on the table. "I feel like I have a second dad."
"I mean, you did leave without telling anyone," I tell her. She gives me a look. "He's just being a concerned boyfriend." I would definitely question my significant other if they had gone MIA for a day.
"It's annoying," She says with a sigh. I watch her rest her head on her arm. It was quiet for a while, the sun had finally set. One of the tree's was lit up with string lights, it was pretty. "I think I need to break up with him."
"What?" My eyes practically jumped out of my head. "Where's this coming from?"
"I don't know."
"Is there someone else?"
"I don't know," She says again, but a smile on her face. She clearly had someone in mind. "I'm just kind of done with how he treats me."
"Understandable," I tell her. He's not exactly the best boyfriend, especially when he gets mad at her for little things. "Let's get your mind off of it, yeah?" She nods and takes ahold of my arm as we walk back towards the dance floor.
"Amelia!" Sarah shouts with a drunk laugh. A blonde haired girl smiles as she spins around. She was the one that was hosting the party later. "Can you get us both another drink?"
"Of course," She says and walks away. Amelia had to be twenty one, or at least knew someone else to get us drinks. She was very pretty.
Sarah begins to jump up and down as the band started to play some song that I didn't know. She takes my hands and forces me to start dancing with her, I eventually give in with a laugh.
"Are you having fun?" She asks, a hopeful look on her face.
"Define fun," I say while downing the rest of the glass. I hear her laugh, and she takes the glass from me and sets it on the ground.
"Why is Rafe staring at you?" Sarah asks, her brows fitted together in a judgmental way. "What did he say to you when my dad was giving his speech?" I press my lips together, as I swallow hard.
"I think it's time to hold my hand now," Rafe says in my ear, chuckling. "It's a big moment for our, family."
"You say our family like I'm part of it," I tell him while holding onto his arm instead. Sarah smiles as she holds onto Wheezie directly ahead of us.
