I think I'm going to start posting pictures that associate with the chapter. I know we're already like fifty chapters in, but, oh well.

Someone startled me awake.
I feel my eyes open fast, so I sit up, and take a quick look around. I was still in the hospital, specifically in the waiting room. My gaze was drawn to the man who had woken me up, and I soon realized that he was a doctor.
I was relieved to know that the nurse from before wasn't the one that had woken me up.
"Are you here for Corrine Barlow?" He asks, I nod, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. It took a second or two for them to focus. "We had to admit her into surgery."
"I figured," My voice was hoarse, as it always was whenever I first wake up. I wondered how long I was actually asleep for. "Is she okay?"
"She's out of surgery now, there were some complications but-"
"Complications," I interrupt, fully awake now. "What the hell happened?"
"She lost a lot of blood," The doctor explains. "It took us a lot longer to repair the damages the bullet made when it went through her."
"But she's okay," I say slowly. He nods, and I sigh out of relief.
"The anesthesia is still in her system. So it'll take a while for it to wear off," He explains. I run a hand through my hair as I sit forward, my body leaning over my knees.
"Can I go see her?" I ask.
"Molly said that you were her fiancé?" The doctor asks, eying me as if he didn't believe it.
"Yeah," I lie.
He nods after a while, "Do you have ID?"
"Why do you need that?" I ask, digging into my pocket for my wallet.
"It's protocol." The nurse said the same thing, is that the excuse they use every time they need to find out information? I handed him my ID anyway. "Why aren't your last names the same?"
I lick my dry lips, I felt so dehydrated, "Not that it's any of your business, but she chose to keep her last name."
"Right," The doctor says, handing me back my ID. "...She's in room 304."
"Thanks," I step over the white cup the nurse, I'm assuming Molly, gave me. It was still full. I leave the waiting area, as the doctor walks in the opposite direction. I could see Molly still sitting behind the nurses' station, but instead of catching her gaze, I kept mine straight. She was so obvious with her staring, couldn't she be more subtle? It was creepy as fuck.
When I get to Corrine's room, I cautiously slide the door open. I take a nervous breath when I notice her lying in bed, as pale as ever, and her eyes closed.
"Fuck," I whisper. I hear the door open again, and I glance over my shoulder to see who could have been coming in. It was a different nurse, not the one that was openly flirting with me.
"Here," The nurse was older, maybe in her fifties or so. She was wheeling in a chair, and gave me a friendly smile as she placed it behind me. "I'd figure you would want to be here when she wakes up."
"When exactly will she wake up?" I ask.
"It's different for each person, but less than a day usually," She explains. I sit down in the chair and let my eyes scan Corrine's face. She looked like hell. "She'll be okay."
