| Warning: This chapter has some mentions of depression after a traumatic death. If you're sensitive to this, either read with caution or go to the next chapter. You could also find another book to read. It's not my intention to trigger anyone in anyway. |

When I woke up, the fireplace was out and there was no light in the room. I was in Tom's room. All of a sudden the bathroom door opened, and I jumped. But it was just Tom walking out in a towel. "You scared me." "Well I know you like my bedroom better so that's why you're in here instead of your old room." "I do." "Would you like breakfast?" "I'm not hungry." "What would you like to do?" "Nothing." "I'll be in the area where I work if you need anything. You can stay here until you think you're ready to go back." "I don't think I want to go back." "What are you saying?" "I don't want to go back there for much longer." "So-." "So I'm saying you finish the last things you need to finish here, and then when you're ready to go back take me with you." "Do you even know where I would take you?" "I know this isn't where you live." "You're right. I only come here if I need to attend business. I live in a huge mansion with over eighty five rooms." "And I would live there with you?" "Yes, and we can stay there until this whole thing is over. Then we would do something to please my father." "Which is." "He would most likely want to meet you before I take it to the next step." "When are you leaving Hogwarts?" "In about three weeks. I just need to do one more thing before I depart. Now get some rest. I'll be in the other room."
He closed the door a little, and left me to sleep in the room. After he left I could hear my fathers last words playing in my head. They were on an infinite loop, and it was getting harder and harder to not break down and cry. The tears were forming in my eyes wanting to be released from their cage. But I just needed to sleep, that's all I want to do right now.
I felt the tears soar out of my eyes and burn my skin. They kept falling like a waterfall, and it was impossible to breathe when all I could do was cry. I just wish I had more time with him, and that we could've spent the last remaining years perfect. Now my father is dead, and I feel myself slowly dying again. I know this pain. It's the same pain I felt when I lost my mother, and you would think since I've experienced it wouldn't be as bad. But no, it's like I've never experienced this pain before but I have. All you can do is feel their warmth touch your skin, and then your skin becomes cold. You can hear their voices, but they slowly become quiet voices. All you can feel after that is nothing but burning cheeks, cold hands, silence, and you can feel yourself slowly dying. Just like how they did.
I woke up a few hours later to hear people talking in the other room. One sounded like Tom, and the other sounded like an older man's voice. It was raspy, and sounded dead. I put my ear against the wall, and listened to their conversation.
"Look, I just wish you made the instructions clear." Tom said. "I believe that I give them a general point of instructions, and they can do whatever they wish to do after." "That's a really stupid way to rule, don't you think?" "I would watch your tone. I do much for you Thomas. You'd think you could be more understanding of my ways." "I'm just saying, because of what Lestrange did the other day. Now my girlfriend is in the other room. She was crying earlier." "I don't understand her ideas on my plans either. But she's one of my best death eaters." "I just want her to be comfortable with us before she makes her decision. She means so much to me, and I want her to stay with me." "Yes, I know. But you need to worry about why I sent you here in the first place." "Yes I know." "To kidnap the girl to get her family tangled with us. Then I needed you to get as much information so we can try to get Harry. Now I need you to deal with Draco, and Dumbledore. So far, you've only kidnapped the girl, and made her family join us." "I did get enough information for you about Harry. It was your job to kill him, and you were unsuccessful." "Not next time. Deal with Malfoy and Dumbledore. Once that is taken care of we will have more. Then I will allow this girl to come into our family." "I know. That's what I told you. It took me a whole bottle of wine to get you to say, yes." "I must go now. Please make sure you follow your tasks, and if you want to make that girl comfortable. It won't be easy, we aren't a normal family." "Yes, I know." "And what will she do once she finds out what you did." "Alright father I understand. Please leave me." "As you wish, son. I'll be back next week for an update." "Yes father." "Good."
I heard a small but loud sound, and then I heard nothing. I just heard Tom placing a glass cup from behind me. I turned around to see him facing me. "It's not nice to eavesdrop, darling." "I'm sorry." "You should be asleep." "I've been asleep the whole day." "Yes, I know. I have to take a shower. I'll be in bed with you in an hour. Please don't do anything reckless." "I won't." "Thank you."
He walked over to me, and picked me up to his chest. I wrapped my legs around his stomach, and he gently put me on the bed and covered me with the silk sheets. He leaned down to me, and gave me a little kiss before walking into the shower. Even in the darkest times of my life he always knows how to make me safe. It truly is a talent.
