Apple has been staring at me for the past couple of minutes. Her expression changes from time to time. The thing is, I could not read what's on her mind.
"Okay, I give up." I told her. She blinked and finally the staring game is over. "What's wrong with you?!"
She laughed. She laughed so loud that people outside the coffeeshop gave us confusing looks.
"Sorry. I'm just...I'm just so excited!" She said and her eyes sparkled like I've never seen before. She's literally on cloud nine. I would he suprised if she's not. She's getting married in a few weeks!
I rolled my eyes to tell her I'm a bit annoyed but she just giggled.
"Are you that happy?" I asked her even if I already know her answer.
She nodded.
"Good for you." I told her. I honestly do think that her being with P'Na is a good thing. I mean, she didn't really changed much, personality-wise, but she is happier.
"Awwww, thank you, Tawan." Then she goes back at her staring game.
"Yah! Stop staring at me!" I scolded her.
"Sorry, I can't help it. Really." She took a deep breath. "Okay, okay. I will behave now." She pause for a while to compose herself, which I doubt she really did. "So, are you joining us tomorrow? It's the first Friday of the month."
"Not sure about that. Tomorrow will be a couple's night, definitely." I told her. Her expression suddenly changed. It's one of those expressions you can easily read.
"Did something happen?" She asked. She looked concerned.
I let out a sigh.
"He will not make it tomorrow?" She asked. I shook by head. "Hey, it's okay." Apple said trying to cheer me up. "You still have my wedding day to introduce him to us."
I did not respond immediately. I'm ready to tell Apple what happened but I'm not ready yet to fully accept it.
"We broke up."
She did not move or say a word. She just looked at me.
I forced a smile. "It's okay. People come and go. Those who are meant to stay will stay. Unfortunately he's not meant to stay in my life. So, I let him go."
She nodded. She's silent for a while. Maybe internalizing what I just told her.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked me. Looking at her eyes, I saw her sincerity, her willingness to comfort me right here, right now.
I nodded.
"Okay. Let's go upstairs." I think I gave her a scared look. She assured me that no one's upstairs right now. Mew and Gulf are in a shooting out of town. Ohm and Fluke are staying overnight at Fluke's parents. Kao is on duty, Earth on a business trip.
"How about P'Na?" I asked her. She giggled.
"He's already asleep when I got down to meet you here." She said.

Apple said we should drink while I tell her what I want to share with her about my ex. She suggested we stay at the living area. That's the safest place for us, anyways.
"So, where do you want to begin?" She asked me.
Apple is on the sofa, while I'm on the floor. She didn't turn on the lights. She said the light from the moon is enough.
"Well, Joss and I broke up three months ago." I confessed.
"WHAT? THREE MONTHS AGO? WAIT, DIDN'T YOU GO TO JAPAN TO SEE HIM THREE MONTHS AGO?" Apple asked. The confusion is evident in her voice.
