Sometimes, do you have this urge of just disappearing? Like, you do not want to be at this very moment that you just want to be swallowed by the earth? It's not that you do not want to live this life anymore, it's just that you do not want to be at this very moment. You just want to escape it. But unfortunately you can't. You do not have the ability and the guts to do so. And if you ever have, you will definitely eaten by your conscience.
That's where I am right now. I'm standing near the buffet table, holding a plate of a sclide of cake on my left and a fork on my right. Yup, I'm eating cake at a corner while watching everyone enjoy watching Augusy and July dancing. They just got married a few hours ago. I was even the bridesmaid. Chairman convinced me to. Secretary Na insisted I have to, for the sake of the Chairman.
I saw a hand holding a glass of red wine in front of me. I traced the hand and found out it's Secretary Na.
"Why don't you try this?" He got the glass of wine closer to me. I showed him the plate and fork I'm holding, just to tell him my hands are still occupied.
He put down the glass of wine and took the plate and fork from me. Then he handed me the glass of wine. "I think you need this."
I accepted it. "Okay okay. But you will have to answer to Mew just in case he interrogates me for drinking alcohol."
Secretary Na raised an eyebrow. "You don't have to drink a lot."
"Okay okay." I told him before taking a sip.
We stod there together, silently watching everyone having a good time.
"Thank you." I heard him say. I look at him yet he's still looking at the couple. I don't know if ut was for me or for anyone. So I didn't respond.
"Thank you." He said again. I look at him again and this time he is looking at me.
"For what?" I asked curiously.
"For agreeing to be Khun July's bridesmaid." He said with a smile.
"No need to thank me for that." I said while looking at him in the eyes.
"The Chairman is happy." He smiled again.
"Yah, stop spoiling the Chairman so much-"
I was about to say more but something dropped between us. Secretary Na picked it up. We're both looking at it and deciphering what it is when we heard people cheering. We looked at each other then to the main function. Everyone's looking at us.
"I think that's the garter that the groom usually throws." I told him. He just nodded. "I guess you have to go to where the couple is. He nodded again then left me there alone.
Looking from where I'm standing, Secretary Na looks clueless of what is happening. Don't tell me he doesn't know about the garter and the flower? He'll be more surprised then to know that he will have a partner.
Now they announced that the bride will throw her bouquet. Every lady is excited to catch the bouquet. Why wouldn't they? Secretary Na is the perfect catch.
Tawan texted me and told me to join. But I ignored him. I'm not interested. I'll just focus on my phone. But damn these kids. They're flooding my phone with messages telling me to catch the bouquet.
"What are you trying to say?" I asked then on our group chat. And all of them send me a bouquet emoji. These kids! I have to punish them when we get home. I have to think of something to make them suffer. This is not good. They're teaming up on me- OUCH! I saw a bouquet of flowers on my foot. Who on earth is...Oh no! I looked in front of me and everyone is looking at me. I saw the kids telling me to pick the flowers. I saw the Chairman and he smiled. Secretary Na is also smiling. Meanwhile, all the other girls are glaring at me.
