Lunch is around the corner and once again, I feel like I'm so alone in this university. I haven't eaten lunch with any of my colleagues, either from the faculty or from the research center. They already have their own clicks, which is kinda childish. But their clicks have made them feel they belong. As for me, I feel and I know I never belonged here. I'm just here for the Chairman and for me to do my passion.
Everyone is already preparing to go out. But all of them stopped when the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science came to the research center for the first time. The Dean immediately spotted me and walked straight to me.
"Ms. Apple, Secretary Na wants to see you." After she said this, I felt like everyone inside the room looked at me. I tried to discreetly look around and I was right. For the first time everyone paid attention on me.
"Secretary Na?" I asked as if I do not know who he is.
"Ah, you might have not met him personally yet. He is the secretary of the Chairman. His office is at 9th floor of the main admin building. I hope you do know where it is." The Dean said, seems like she's in a hurry.
I nodded.
"Good. Go and meet him now. He's a busy person. I'll go ahead as well." And off she goes.
The room is still silent after the Dean left. And most people inside the room are still staring at me, including August. Whatever it is that they're thinking, I do not know and I do not want to know anymore.
At the 98th floor of the main admin building there is only one room, that of Secretary Na. There is a desk at the reception but no one is in there. I went straight and knocked on his door.
When the door opened, his bright face was the first thing I saw. He looks a bit tired, but still I know that all the girls out there will scream his name. He is naturally gorgeous, if I'm allowed to say this.
"So, why did you want to meet me?" I asled him. He wasn't able to respond immediately . He was busy pouring tea on our tea cups.
"Well, I want to talk to you about the Chairman. He doesn't know abou this. But I just want to make sure." He said, his words are too vague for me to understand what he is talking about.
"What do you mean?"
"As I told you before, the Chairman is already weak. He hasn't been in school for a few weeks now. I'm requesting you to come to his house if the time comes." He explained, but still vague.
"Are you telling me to come and see him when he is dead?" I blurted out.
"No." He said, very straightforwardly. "I'm asking you to come to his house when he need strength, when he needs a reason to keep fighting." He smiled at me.
"Will that be enough?" His eyes smiled when he heard me say this.
"Yes. These days, his thoughts of finally having you in this university is helping him to recover. These days, he only cares bout you and your well-being."
When I got back into the research center, one of my colleagues approached me.
"So, what did Secretary Na say?" I di not know her name, but I know she's one of Hera's friends.
"He asked me to some research on certain topics." I showed her a folder containing some papers. Actually, those papers were just scratch papers I got from Secretary Na's office.
My colleague nodded. "You know what, you are the first person I know to be called at Secretary Na's office. They said that no one, except the Chairman and his granddaughter, and the Deans of faculties has entered his office. You're lucky to go there." She said before she left me.
