"Let's break up." And just like that, with those words, she broke my heart into pieces. "Say something." She said. But I couldn't. I wanted to, but I'm out of words to say.
"Why?" That's the only thing I said, and the only thing that should be said.
Her eyes tell me she is sad with all of that is happening, but why is she still doing this?
"P'Kao, I want to give us the time to think about our relationship." I don't understand. "We've been together for quite sometime now, but lately, I realized I needed time to think if we can stay like this for a long time." I still don't get it. She caressed my cheeks as she smiled at me. Her smile was the saddest I've seen so far, and I couldn't bear to look at it.
I didn't say a word. I wanted to know what she is thinking, I wanted to know the reason behind this all because the reason she gave me do not make sense at all.
"P'Kao, I have one last question to ask. Please be honest with me." We both looked into each other's eyes. The look in her eyes changed. This might have been what Fluke has been telling me about the eyes. "Do you want me to go?" No.
"You yourself said that you want it and you needed it." I tried to smile. "It's for your future."
And for the first time, I saw tears flowing down her cheeks. I wanted to wipe them for her but she was quick to wipe them.
She smiled. "Maybe, this is really what our relationship will lead to. Thank you, P'Kao. Can I have one last request?" I nodded. "After 9 months, when I return, and everything still feels the same, please let us give each other a chance to be in each other's life again."
I nodded. I will always want her to be in my life. I am sure of that.
"Thank you." She kissed my cheeks and left me there in the airport, standing, looking at her as she leaves me behind.
Did I do something wrong? Did she really have to leave me like this? If I told her not to go, would she stay by my side? I can feel she is waiting for me to say something, but I don't know what she wants. If I know, I would have told her as soon as I can.
"P'Kao" Earth said. He looks worried. I gave him a smile, but he is not buying it. He knows me too well.
He immediately run to me and hugged me. And that's when my tears dropped and everything went blurred.
The Nong is sad to say goodbye to his family but he has to go for his future. He has been planning this for sometime. It was a hard decision to leave med school but it is something he knows he needed to do. Medicine will always be his first love and will have a special place in his heart, but now, he knows what he wants and that is not medicine.
Everyone in his family decided to see him off. Even their family friend, the family of the Phi. But his Phi is not there. He hasn't been answering his calls or messages in the past days. All he wants is to say goodbye to him properly.
"You have to go now." The Nong's mother said. The Nong nodded and hugged each and everyone before proceeding to the check-counter.
The line was long, but he wanted it to be longer to buy time for his Phi just in case he decides to see him off. But he has already checked in his baggages but his Phi is nowhere to be found.
"You're running away again?" He heard someone say as he is going to the immigration. He knew there and then that he needed to look for the person who said that. Left, no. Right, no. He turn and there he is, his Phi, lookinh at him.
The Nong immediately run to his Phi.
"So, you're running awaya again?"
The Nong smiled. "Phi, I told you before, I will never run away again. I told you that wherever I go, I will tell you where it is so you can always come and find me." The Phi just nodded.
