XII. First Friday

Mew woke up from a good sleep. It's a Friday, and he woke up early for no apparent reason. Everyone in the house was shocked when he joined them for breakfast.

Apple, as always, cooked good breakfast. Mew was sure that Flule helped her because his P'Ohm joined them for breakfast. Earth is still sleepy but woke up just to eat breakfast with Kao, who is about to go on another three night shifts.

Mew felt happy hearing the noise in their house. It used to be just him and Apple, but now there are five of them, seven if he adds Ohm and Tawan who are constant visitors to their humble home.

"Manager, what are your plans for tonight?" Asked Fluke.

Mew smiled. He knows what the youngest is talking about, it's their monthly gathering.

"Hmm, what do you want to do tonight?" Mew asked back.

Everyone fell silent, thinking of an activity to do.

"How about a movie marathon?" Suggested Earth, who is an avid fan of movies.

"What about we play some games, Phi?" Suggested Ohm. Fluke nodded to support his boyfriend.

"Why don't we clean the house?" Said Apple. Everyone felt chills down their spines. While Apple said it enthusiastically, she also said it with firmness in her voice, meaning she is planning to make everyone clean.

"Yah, don't you think it's too much work? I mean the house is-" Mew was not able to finish his sentence because he saw the looks on Apple's face.

"Kao, wash the dishes before you go to work. Earth, clean the library and the living area. Manager, go outside and clean, including the pool. Fluke and I will clean upstairs." Apple commanded. No one retaliated.

Ohm raised his hand. "What about me, Phi?" He asked Apple.

"You clean the kitchen." Apple said.

After breakfast, everyone, without enthusiasm, went on to clean their respective areas.

It's a very hot day. Mew wanted to curse at Apple. "WHY DO I NEED TO CLEAN? REALLY APPLE? OUTSIDE? YOU ASKED ME TO CLEAN OUTSIDE UNDER THIS SCORCHING SUN?"

Earth also felt the same. He has to clean two rooms. While the library is small, it's a mess because of Kao's books and other things. Thank goodness, the living area is clean. He just have to make sure that every corner is cleaned.

Fluke and Apple didn't have any problems cleaning the second floor because they only cleaned their rooms, and the hallway.

Apple was extra strict that day that she has inspected all their works. When she was satisfied, she rewarded them with a barbecue party for dinner.

While Mew, Ohm and Tawan are grilling, Apple, Earth and Fluke were chatting.

"Ah, Phi, while I was cleaning at the living room, I saw this." Earth took out a red flash drive from his pocket. "Is this yours?" He asked Apple.

"That's mine." Said Mew even before Apple could answer. He sounded serious.

"Are you sure?" Apple asked. Mew nodded.

Earth handed the flashdrive to Mew. "It seems like it has been under the television cabinet for ages, manager." Said Earth.

"I think I dropped it there accidentally." Said Mew. This was the flash drive that Prem gave him years ago. It's the one containing a short film about his life.

"Is it something important?" Asked Apple.

"Not really sure. I haven't opened it yet." Mew answered. Everyone looked at each other, not knowing what to say, but are all curious about the flash drive.
