Chris Langford
I got myself out of the bed, went for workout , showered, had breakfast and went to work.
Honestly, nothing much in my life that makes me want to go out and take an adventure thrill and shit. The work and the company keeping me busy is just fine. I mean I never said I am not looking for fun or rather prefer myself sulking into work but again I'd rather put the promise I made to my grandfather first.
When he was about to leave me he told me how my dad will pass on the company to me and how I would have to manage and own that duty. He was my idol and I'd die rather than not accomplish the last thing he asked me to do rather than have fun. He never asked anything in particular just told me how he feels my dad is missing out on something and I'd be needed to step-up and take the matter into my hand.
So with today's work in my hand I enter the building of " Langford Corporation Pvt. Ltd. " and make my way towards my office.
I settle myself down and as I am about to start with my work there is a knock on my door to which I say come in and see my assistant Harry bring in my coffee and some other files.
I about to dismiss him when he speaks up " Sir we have a request from the Woodword's that their son Mr. Oliver Woodwords would like to meet you day after tomorrow at the café as he has requested your personal presence saying he wants the meeting to be informal. How would you like to respond to that , sir ? what should I answer them on your behalf ?"
Thinking about the current stats of my company with his, I'd like to meet Oliver outside the business premises and see it myself what he has to offer " Okay , tell me to send me the details about this informal meeting and I'll see the rest myself, you may leave Harry."
With a nod he strode out of my office leaving me to my work.
It was afternoon when my dad entered in the office with some kind of unexplainable emotion on his face. He made his way to the chair in front of the desk sitting on the opposite side to me. "You do realize I still own the company and you being my only heir are going to own the company nevertheless." , he said with a sigh.
To which I replied " yes dad , off course I do , but the legal documents say otherwise , my point is 40% of the company shares still belong to uncle Kevin don't you think you need to settle the matter about that 40% before passing on the ownership to me?"
Dad seemed to be in deep thought and replied "I don't think there should be any problem with him selling you the shares as you see he does not have any heir to which he can descend down the shares plus I am going to offer him the same suggestion. That he sells me his 40% and the whole company goes to you or the 40% remains to him and you own the 60% of my part. After all, he is my brother and would at least consider the deal. This is the only ideal solution I see do far now that you are in position ready to take over from me."
Something fishy was already going on with the company sales and shares as well and I'd suspect that a year ago but I made my mind since that about not mentioning that shit to my father, old man already is a heart patient wouldn't want to give him another point to worry.
"Dad you don't need to worry about that as well, I'll take care of that with uncle Kevin myself. I know it can get bitter between you two so don't stress on that and I will let you know about that as well."
Dad nodded in appreciation " I know its just that be careful around him, he didn't took your grandfather's death well. And things can get a bit messy."
I understood that from quite a time from now "don't worry I'll handle it "
