Chris Langford

I barely mange to get myself off the bed and be ready for the first meeting I am having with my uncle- which is a reason I headed here, London. Cross fingers, I can get the shit done as soon as possible.

To my surprise, my uncle doesn't gives two shit about the company built by his father. All he ever wanted to do was own a restaurant or maybe chain of restaurants and that's exactly he is having it here. He called me to the office he has in one of the first restaurant he ever had here.

I head towards the office as I was signaled by one of his men to do. Kevin Langford looks pretty much well doing, least bothered. Though he played the part of being an uncle to me very well, still it's been years last I saw him. He looks nearly the same, adding the white hair and some scruff around his face.

He gets up from his seat and engulfs me in a hug which I respectfully return back. To certain extent I thought he was the bad guy involved in the scams happening around the company money but he came out clean. So there was no point in creating unnecessary feud among each other.

"Chris, my boy, it's been a long time", he says patting my shoulder once we regain our normal stance. I nod, "indeed, how are you keeping up uncle?" He chuckles going towards his seat, "I am alright as you can see, all in one piece." Humming in response I take the seat he gestured towards.

"I am sorry I couldn't show up after you got in that accident", I apologize as he passes me the coffee after he has taken his seat. He nods and sips from his cup, placing the cup down he says, "it's okay, you recently got engaged so I know you needed your time." I sip from my cup and sigh.

"I saw the photos, you two actually make an amazing couple", he says and heat reaches my face. I couldn't even nod lest have some words out of my mouth so I keep on sipping my coffee when my uncle decides to continue, "I am sure Nora must already be dreaming about having grandkids" ends it with a chuckle.

I don't know about my mom but now that my uncle has mentioned it, kids with Hailey! I mean I won't mind a little version of Hailey running and bossing around me. Or maybe a mini me?

God knows what Hailey thinks about us? Us having a future or us being together in near future- I want to know if she even considers us having a future together or is she uncertain.

Sometimes I just wish I could read her mind and get the answers. It's been approximately 8 months since she stepped in my life and I am already swept off from head to toe about her. Having her with me gives me a reason to go home, just cuddle with her, listen her ramble theories about her favourite shows and listen to how Anakin Skywalker and ObiWan Kenobi are the best jedis ever.

Hailey's craze for StarWars is insane, that 23 year old lady's energy about it is fucking too much like those beautiful brown eyes literally shine off when they are on the screen. She's even planning on getting us matching merchandise of the same but I was a step ahead and got us the couple shirts of Han Solo and Princess Leia. By God, the smile on her face had me blushing furiously.

"already in dreamland?", my uncle's voice hits me and I realize I went off in space with my thoughts. Clearing my throat, I shake my head and ask, "your personal assistant was hell bent on bringing me here, are you facing any problems?" He nods blankly for a few times, does a quick check around his office by turning his head to right and left, as if ears had walls his voice goes down by several octaves, "it's about the shares of the company, the shares that I own."

It's suspicious because one- he is being sneaky, two- the shares are his exclusively so why whisper? I nod as a signal for him to continue, "the shares are worth more than 25 million dollars, I can't quite put a had on exact amount but this is a rough figure."
