Lucas calls me up saying, he'll give out an official statement on the events of yesterday night and I am not worried about that because I might be a 25 year old grown ass man, but my dad's anger still scares the shit out of me and that's what is going to happen to me.

As after dropping Hailey to her work, instead of heading to office I am heading to meet my dad at our house. I was anxiously taping my fingers on the steering wheel trying to think something else when the moments from the previous night roll in.

I should've told her about the threats earlier than this, but it could have been worse- I don't fucking know how I would've told her, okay.

I reach there in no time and straight away head in to see dad was already sitting in the huge living room with a scowl on his face. Moving towards him, I stand a good feet away from him, "Morning Dad." He clears his throat,"yeah, nothing good so morning son and take the seat as you have a lot to explain."

My mom walks in before I take my seat and hands me my mug. Thank fuck, I needed coffee so badly, it's like alcohol to me. I take a long chug of it and place the mug on the table in front and clear my throat,"from where do you want me to start?"

My dad raises an eyebrow and deadpans,"maybe start from the day when I told you in words as clear as water- do anything you want but don't get involved with mafia people."

Okay, I get that old man is pissed, nahh wrong word, correct word is- angry.

I explain every single thing, starting from us meeting Lucas at the gala, him showing up at office and all of the shit. And like a certified idiot I am I even mention or more precisely complain about how there are chances of the mafia don crushing on my fiancé. Dad was stiff as bamboo all while hearing me ramble about my 'How I met the mafia don' story.

I sigh and relax back on the seat knowing I gagged out the truth in front of my father. I wonder what happens to my system when it's around Hailey. What happens to me when the same truth was to be told to her? What kind of fear was stopping me from telling her the same? I don't want her to think that all I do is lie and hide the facts from her.

Dad clears his throat which brings me back to the moment,"so you are going to do the business with him?" He was looking straight at me with a blank face and fuck me for nodding. He doesn't show any expression on his face and then says,"I won't interfere your decisions, but hear me out boy, if you put my father's hardwork in jeopardy, before Lucas you'll face my wrath."

Off course I know that,"I know dad, I won't let anything happen, trust me on this, you have my word." He hums in response before speaking,"I got a call yesterday saying Kevin is going to be alright but it's going to take time for him to fully recover." I nod once as I had no idea what to say on that matter.

My mom walks back in, sits beside me and wraps her arms around me to which I lean on her shoulder. Oh how much I missed her in the chaos. I her dad chuckle before he speaks,"he is grown up Nora, stop spoiling your son." She lets out a huff,"says who ran to ice-cream store in the middle of the night with a 12 year old Chris behind my back."

Oh shit ! she knew that all this long ! I smile at the memory.

Dad let's out a scoff,"that was years ago, he was a kid, now he is grown up and about to have his own kids." Wait ! Kids? Me? I stare at both of them blankly to which my dad continues,"what! According to the clause you were supposed to marry Hailey next month anyways, it's her that saved your sorry for nothing excused ass."

Oh fuck, this also reminds me, next month is December. This means she has her birthday. And to add on the list it's exact 6 months to us meeting each other.
