Chris Langford
I swear to god, I thought that when I dropped her off to her home, it'll be a relief but fuck I was wrong. My mind still taking me back to the moment our fingers brushed with each other while she handed me my phone back. I remember getting in the car and driving away only after she entered her house and while I was on the road, I'd fish out my phone to check and saw her name saved.
Hailey
This doesn't seem right as if she had already taken my thoughts with her and is unfair to me, because I am not sure if she is comfortable around me,her features appear soft. Soft in a way, that makes you just want to be around her and protect her from the world. I may be wrong because I've never known her personally.
Currently I am going through all the shitty documents that need my signature of approval to be passed on and what not. I so bad want to leave this and focus on finding the missing clues that I need to confirm my suspicions on certain shares of the company. My thoughts are broken by a knock on my office door to which I say a come in and see my assistant Harry walk in holding a cup of coffee and a pile of files
"Sir, I called Mr. Kevin's assistant and she informed me that he won't be in the city for a whole month concluding you won't be able to meet him before the month and she isn't even sure when he'll be returning back." Harry's statement played in my mind one more time and I nodded to him. "It's okay, leave the files and you can go", I stated and with that he left me, my coffee and my work.
By the time I was done it was 7 pm, so I decided to wrap up and head back home. I got home in about 20-30 mins as always or maybe a bit slow. I got myself a nice warm shower, changed into sweatpants and a vest and strode towards kitchen. Seemingly, Marie as always had made me my dinner so I let it out and heat it. Taking my plate, I settled myself on the couch and turned on any random channel that can be bearable and started to have my food.
While I was in the state of emptying my plate, I heard the doorbell go off to which I got up and went to open the door. And when I opened it, to my surprise the idiot had this huge grin on his face and straight away walked in and sat himself on the couch. I closed the door behind me and went to have my seat, once done I turned towards him, "The fuck you think you are doing here, Nick?" He gave a small snort, "Dude chill, I am here to meet my best friend. Don't be a bitch."
Nick is my idiot-one who you call best friend- since middle school, we'd stick with each other through thick and thin and all shit even when he went for engineering and me in business, he can be so fucking annoying sometimes, but this is the only idiot I'd have around me and close to me, let's say almost same as a brother so yeah, I bear his annoying ass always.
"I am not and on the contrary stop touching things in my house",I huffed in annoyance. He turned to me completely, making changes in his sitting posture, "I am sure as hell someone got a stick up your ass so aren't you gonna tell me who did that?" I was a bit in dilemma to be able to explain this shit to him, but he went on, "How about we go to have a shot and then you spit it out?" I did consider going to bar and down some alcohol to clear my head, but didn't apply it to action.
Nick was looking at me waiting for my answer, so I gave a nod, "Okay let me go change", with that I got up on my feet and him doing the same. "I'll like to fill my stomach a bit so pal l'll be in kitchen," he had this huge grin on his face to which I rolled my eyes and just went towards my bedroom to get myself changed. I threw on black jeans and a navy blue shirt and a black jacket and made my way out only to see Nick was busy having his mouth filled with food that was supposed to be mine.
I cleared my throat to grab his attention to which he turned, "By the way we are taking your sweet ride." I was immediate to respond, "No way !! We are going in your car and its final if you want you can spend your night here if you get wasted." He gave a snort and said 2-3 okays throwing his hands in air. We made our way to the bar and were in front of it in no time because my best friend couldn't contain his excitement to go wasted on alcohol I guess.
