It was a surprise trip as Chris said but damn him because the house was more gorgeous than what I had anticipated. The lake side house had walls in shade of brown, glass window and was surrounded by the greens.

We were here to spend the weekend alone, just the two of us as according to Chris, "It's difficult to separate you from your family."

The house was fancier from inside, furnished with minimum but good looking interior, the kitchen pantry was stocked and everything was neat and clean. I walk to bedroom, place my bags on the bed and go on the tour of the house, exploring every single corner while Chris was busy making some business calls.

The view from the sun room at the top of the house was awesome than one could've thought. It was late afternoon when I was gazing outside, the rays still trying to fall inside the room, lighting it up with all it's strength.

I walk back to the bedroom to see Chris splayed out on the bed. "Where'd you go?" he asks, straightening up. "To explore", I answer and sit beside him. His hands wrap around my waist and pull me closer to him.

He makes an 'uh-huhh' sound. We lie down on the bed, his arms around me while I had palmed mine on his chest. The evening sky faded, darkness taking over it. We stayed like the same until the night rolled in.

In the kitchen, I convince Chris to make his special pasta with the available ingredients. This dude almost burnt his finger while handling the sauce pan, I sigh. Though I wasn't much of a cook myself but I manage myself fine by cooking food flavored and edible enough.

After dinner we went to have a walk around the lake, the lights from the sky were so pleasing. The stars twinkling, the clear reflection of moon light over the surface of water with the light coming from it covering most of the lake and it's surrounding. The cool breeze making the leaves shiver and branches rustle. The serene silence followed by the low whistle of the wind bowing felt like a free therapy session from nature.

We came back late as I asked to stay a bit longer near the lake and went to sleep at around 2 in the morning. So it was obvious that we woke up around 11 in the morning and much to my amusement Chris was the first one to wake up.

In only his Polo shirt, I descend the stairs and make my way to the kitchen to find Chris working on the breakfast. Silently I stand behind him and wrap my arms around his torso, "Good Morning my big boy." There is a chuckle but for the next the sound of spoon being placed down is heard and he turns to face me, "Good Morning my love, did you sleep well?" I nod.

We cleared up breakfast and went for a dip in the lake, came back home late in the afternoon and were resting in the bedroom.

"Hailey"

"Yes", I respond while propping myself on my elbows.

"Get ready, we have somewhere important to go", he says.

I frown and turn my head to have a look at his face. His facial features soft yet somehow I could hear the hard pounding of his heart. "Are you nervous?" I ask, running my fingers in his hair and tucking back that one strand of the hair that was falling on his forehead. He shakes his head.

"You said it's important", I point out.

He nods, "it is."

"And what does it has to do with me?"

"Most probably, everything", his answer was making me question the true importance of what was about to come.

He places a finger on my lips, "no more questions, there" -pointing at the dresser, I turn to look at it and find a red box sitting there- "is your dress, wear it and get ready. No more questions asked and none of them answered as well."
