Peter's POV

I rested my chin on my hands, waiting for the bell to ring. I noticed the shuffling of students trying to gather their books before heading out.  I caught Loki's eye and we made faces at each other, laughing silently, until we were able to leave. The other teens jumped to their feet and made their way to the door as soon as the bell rang.

"Whats next?" Loki asked as we trailed after MJ and Ned.

I slipped a piece of paper out of my pocket which had my classes messily scribbled out. I groaned.

"You want the bad news or good news?" I sighed.

"Good?"

"This is our last class."

"And the bad news?"

"We have gym," I complained.

Loki's face fell. "We'll have to be really careful with our injuries."

I nodded and subconsciously touched my side where a gash hid under my shirt.

We dodged swarms of people as we headed to our lockers. We threw our books in and left empty handed to our last class. I was dreading it.

I nervously wrung my hands and hesitated in the doorway to the gym locker room. A boy roughly pushed past me, glaring, as we stopped abruptly. Ned had already gone in and MJ had split with us to go to her last class. Unlike Ned and I, she had a couple different classes where she had to go by herself.

Loki reached down and grabbed my hand, giving it a light squeeze, before letting it fall. A small smile danced on my lips and I forced my legs to move. We entered side by side and were met with changing boys and metal cubbies. I filtered my way through the crowd, not going unnoticed, and the boys began to change in silence as we passed. Loki trailed behind me, and he was probably the only reason I wasn't getting bombarded with a million questions. His presence alone was intimidating. Eventually we made it to Ned who was changing in the very back of the room.

"Hey," I greeted. "Any idea where we can find some gym clothes?"

Ned slipped his shirt off and pointed wordlessly to a nearby closet. I nodded and thanked him. Trying not to embarrass myself in the thick and silent atmosphere of the changing room, I swung the door open and was faced with piles of neatly folded shorts and shirts.

"Whats your size?" I asked Loki, poking through the stacks looking at sizes.

"I dunno, large maybe?" He replied.

I selected a medium for myself and a large for Loki, before stepping back and shutting the door. I threw Loki's clothes and he barely caught them. Now everyone was outright staring. I shuffled back over to Ned who was almost finished. I tried to force myself to take off my shirt, but I just couldn't do it with so many pairs of eyes on me. Loki glanced at me then around the room, challenging everyone's gazes and making them avert their eyes.

With some of the pressure off my back I changed as fast as my wounds would allow, hoping beyond hope no one saw my scars or tattoo. Loki watched as I moved, examining my lithe body.

My face heated up under his scrutiny and I muttered, "Thanks for helping me back there."

He smiled and nodded before stripping off his own clothes. By now about half of the people in the locker room remained, the rest had gone to class, including Ned. I tried to keep my eyes in check and stared determinedly at the cubby in front of me. I collected my discarded clothing and shoved them in before turning to leave. Loki caught my wrist and tugged me back. I landed against his chest and he placed a hand on my lower back.
