Peter's POV

"So we're going to the store now?" Wade asked.

"Sure," I said. "Lemme see the card. We gotta make sure FRIDAY didn't juke us out. She likes to do that."

Wade put a hand over the pocket with the card. "Come get it, Petey."

I chuckled darkly. "So you want to play that game, huh?"

"Yeah. I want to see what you're capable of."

Wade took out two of his pistols. He settled into his fighting stance. I did the same, with my hands poised.

"Three," Wade said.

"Two," I continued.

"One."

I launched forward. I aimed my hand and shot a web. Wade dodged and used the opening to take a shot at me. A tingling sensation formed in the back of my mind. I flipped and the bullet whizzed past my ear. I used the momentum to swing around behind Wade.

I kicked him in the back. He stumbled, apparently not expecting it. I snatched one if the katanas strapped to his back. Wade recovered and spun around. He took three more shots. I was able to dodge them.

"Stop moving!" Wade growled.

"Haha! You're just mad cause I'm better than you!" I shouted back.

He reached back for his katanas, to find one was missing.

"Looking for this?"

I darted forward with the katana in my grasp. I slid to my knees and sliced both of his legs as I passed. He fell to his knees.

I held the katana to his throat. "Surrender."

He lifted his mask to his nose and spit out blood. "Never!"

"You have one more chance," I said, pressing the katana harder.

He choked. "Wait!"

I smiled and backed up. "Hand it over Wade. You lost."

Wade muttered several colorful words. He sat with his back against the wall and tugged out the card. "Here."

I took the card, examining it. "I think it's real."

I looked up. Wade still had his mask held up. He was studying me with a strange look on his face.

"I know. I know," He muttered to the air. He turned his attention back to me. "Peter, we're friends, right?"

"Yeah! Of course. Why?"

"Then how come you were willing to kill me for a stupid card?" He asked.

I pulled off my mask completely. "Oh Wade," I said softly. "I didn't mean it like that. You know how I broke into SHIELD? I read part of your file."

Wade took off his mask too. "You did?"

"Yeah," I said, walking over to Wade. I bent down and hugged him. He instantly returned it.

"I'm sorry for doubting you," He whispered.

"Hey. It's okay really," I mumbled back. I squeezed him tight and then let go.

He sighed, shook his head, and muttered. "How can you like a freak like me."

"Hey! I have superhearing, remember?" I said. I put both of my gloved hands on his face. "You're not a freak. Just because you're different from everyone else, doesn't mean your worth any less."

Tears gathered in his eyes. "You mean it?"

"Of course I do dummy!"

He sniffed and I carefully wiped his face. "Are you still up for shopping?"
