I'm so sorry that this is late! I hope you enjoy anyway!

Loki's POV

I awoke startled and disgruntled. For a moment, all I could see was white. I had a throbbing headache, and my vision was blurry. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm my pounding heart.

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times, clearing the sleep from them. Three walls were solid white and the fourth was a golden barrier. I was sitting atop a cot. An uncomfortable looking chair sat in the corner adjacent from a wooden table. I heard the familiar click of boots against marble floors and the pieces fell into place.

My breath left my lungs. I was on Asgard. This was my old prison.

A wave of panic and hopelessness washed over me and I slumped against the smooth wall. I breathed rhythmically, trying to calm myself, in hopes I would avoid a panic attack.

A thought dawned on me. "He drugged me," I said aloud, stunned by the prospect. I laughed incredulously. "How clever. Thor drugged me."

My smile quickly vanished when I realized that Peter was still on Earth. What if he thinks that I abandoned him? Will I ever see him again? And more importantly, will I ever be able to leave? This was so much different than being stuck in SHEILD's prison. At least there I knew he couldn't be far. Now we were separated by whole worlds.

I put my head on my knees and choked back a panicked sob. I found myself repeatedly running my fingers through my hair. I imagined it was Peter, about to do my hair in complicated and beautiful designs. It was knotted and frizzy, but the thought calmed me and I started twisting and braiding my thick, black hair.

I lifted my head with a sad smile on my face. A longing tear ran down my cheek but I focused on the sensation of fulfillment as I finished my first braid. As I let my thoughts roam, I realized that I couldn't hear any other prisoners. They put me in the isolated section of the dungeon.

After awhile, my ears picked up the sound of approaching guards. I lacked my usual mischievous energy and I didn't have the motive nor the inspiration to stand and greet them with a smirk.

The corners of my mouth fell, but I kept braiding. The sound of footsteps stopped outside my cell. A guard cleared his throat and I looked up slowly. Two guards with golden staffs and armor were standing with picture-perfect posture.

I felt angry, but I didn't feel like fighting. "What?" I asked, not bothering to hide the exhausted tone in my voice.

One of the guards shifted uncomfortably. "King Odin requests your presence in the throne room."

"No," I answered. "I refuse."

"You dare disrespect our king like that?" The other guard gasped. My fingers stilled.

"He will never be my king," I snarled. "He took everything from me."

I turned away from them and my voice cracked. "Leave."

I heard them mutter something to each other and their footfalls retreated back down the hall. I felt a small sliver of satisfaction at winning my first battle. Even though I felt a little better, I was still emotionally exhausted so I curled up on my cot and went straight to sleep.

I woke up after what felt like ten minutes. I had no sense of time and I had no idea whether it was day or night. I tried to summon an Earthen clock from my inventory, just to know what time it was where Peter is, and my magic fell short. I cursed. Of course they had dampeners on my cell.

My magic was weakened, but not gone. The magic dampeners were strong enough where it took a lot of extra energy to do something as simple and easy as summoning an object. I wouldn't be able to do much of anything with it except to get things from my storage.
